  • Qq - I tried the POAS directly with the OPK but I never got a reading from it ie - no lines so decided a cup it is.

Just a quick question to you ladies. How long does your AF last? The reason is mine started late Monday night and I had one day of proper bleeding and then it stopped. I didn't have my usual drib and drabness for a few days at the end. In fact I only used 3 tampons  which is good as it maked for a cheap AF but I am getting worried now...

I wouldn't worry about this at all. I had one like this in December 2008, and missed my January 2009 one when I got my BFP. I thought I might have been 8 weeks along in January but I wasn't, it was just a light AF which can happen, and doesn't as you can see affect your chances in the next cycle :D

I won, I won, I won! I've been Money Tipped!
hi all, back from a long 3 and a half hour session at the hospital thought i was not going to be let out, another scan more blood tests my HCG has finally dropped from over 900 to just over 600 this week, the consultant now thinks its ok to wait and see for another week, so have to go in next friday again, unless i get any severe pain before, they dont seem to know how long this will go on for until i m/c :(

ccm, my AF is the opposite which was worrying me, since my m/c in 2007 they have been VERY heavy and last about 6 days and i had been concerned that was causing problems for me

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you ladies, I will be starting the weekend with the giggles now - I have visions of people peeing in cups, and over their hands:D:D:D:D:eek::eek::eek::eek:

At least its coming down lisa, although slow, keep strong XXXX

CCM, I get ones like this sometimes, no worries. As for the second child, I started off being all laid back and thinking that what will be will be, and then I got myself more and more stressed about it. We have told littleun that hes not allowed to get any older hes got to stay at aged 7 forever !!!!!!!!!!! (hes not keen) It makes getting older really hard, as I know that I havent got many years left fertile(of sorts) and it makes me feel about 60 at times.

Have a great weekend everyone - lilo

Oh, are you covering the sides of the OPKs with pee? Not just the front/back?

I'm usually heavy for 2 days, medium for 2 days and few more days of light/spotting. On clomid, it was shorter with light 1 day, heavy 1 day and light/spotting for few more days.

    Hi everyone

I've been reading this forum for a long time now, but never posted.

My DH and i have been TTC for two years now. We did some initial tests at the docs, and all came back fine (sort of). His results showed a high count, but 'slightly' below normal motility (46% i think - should be 50 or above). Doc said this was nothing to worry about though because of his high count. When hospital appointment came through, i fully expected all tests would be around checking out things on my side, although knew second semen analysis was routine. We were shocked to find out that his motility this time was so low (23%) that they have put us on list for ICSI (2 years).

We are both shocked and devastated. I'm gutted to have such a long wait ahead, and all for a 29% chance! I know i should be greatful there is an option, but just now i'm just so depressed. We handled it well together for the first few days, but now we are just bickering all the time and i'm crying more often than not. He's been great about getting tests done, and has given up smoking since his results, but i think he feels 'less of a man' and is so angry. I don't want this to drive a wedge between us, but don't know what to do.

Anyone any tips on what to do/say?

you need to stay strong, infertility can tear a relationship apart so easily x

I'm not sure of your financial positon about going private, that would make it quicker.

Men, if the problem shows to lie with them often feel very helpess as many feel it affects their manliness, so this is where you need to understand he might be torn up inside over this.

You can't blame each other and take your anger out on each other, you knwo there is a problem and you are now going to do your best to fix it x

It's a journey you are both going on together x

I've known people with levels lower than your hubbies fall pregnant, everyone is different.

Maybe whilst you are waiting, try to prepare yourself for IVF by looking at diet and health, try to get your body as optimum as poss so u can increase your chance of success.

Maybe also make the most of this time to do some couple things x

the icsi rate depends on so many diff things, age, bmi, hospital etc.

What i was told for the first 3 ivf's the rate is excatly the same it doesn't drop.

ICSI is a modern marvel it helps so many, we always pay the extra £1000 for it xx

    Good luck xxxx

Motility can vary from sample to sample.
Maybe he had a bad day? High count should cover this though.

    My DH has low count + 22% motility + 1% morphology:o
And we've done 4 SAs. His doesn't vary a lot, but his count has doubled since taking Clomid 25mg/day. Hope that means double motility etc:p

I'm doing ICSI next month. Not only because of him, I have irregular cycles and PCO. I ov'd every time and bloodtest was fine. Ovarian reserve etc was fine and my tubes were clear. But one never knows what the real problem is. We've had one mc at 10 weeks, so it can work sometimes.

As for talking to your DH, I wouldn't put all the blame on him, his SA sounds good. It could be something with both of you.
I think that's the best way to go about this.
