What's the secret? Is it the same as Follistim/Puregon/Ovidrel injection pens where it's done on the stomach?

    Fingers crossed:).

Basically, doing everything slowly. Yes, into the stomach. Pinching the bit of fat, putting the needle in slowly, injecting really slowly, holding it there for a few seconds, then withdrawing slowly. Then pressing down on the spot for a short time. Seems to work for me anyway, and I bruise easily. Have got one small mark after 7 injections.
  • Hugs to you sarah, well done for not bruising and I hope the scan is all well for you.

CCM and Juju, enjoy your treatments

Yes well done Sarah - I hope the scan goes well next week.

Treatment was OK. A few of the pins/needles were ouchy but others I couldn't feel at all. Its when she twizzled them that made the difference. Felt like little electric shocks!!! She said she was trying to stabilise my cycle so I have no/less spotting before period (which I have had since my early 20's). So will be waiting expectantly at the end of this cycle. She wants to see me once a week but its not gonna happen - too expensive. She also asked if I wanted to take Chinese Herbs but again I'm not too sure. I will see her again after Ov and maybe then go once a month. But I slept like a baby last night :T And my OH is thinking about going :T

Thanks for the tip:) I've been doing exactly the same except for injecting slowly and withdrawing slowly.
    Will do that next time:cool:
    Good luck for you scan:)
  • Hi all,

I'm sorry if this is a relativley private forum but really felt the need to join in. The last place I thought I would find people struggling with the same situation as me would be on a MoneySaving forum but boy am I glad I did. I suppose we've all struggled with the costs of funding IVF at some point.

Me and OH have been TTC natrually for 18 months. We just assumed it would happen not longer after, and as they say time flies and before we knew it, it had been a year. We're just starting the doctors process so I'm not really into everything yet, but I have read a lot about egg sharing schemes? Early tests have shown that theres no problem with my eggs so I think this might be the right path for us. I think as a donor I would receive my treatment for free and the idea of helping another couple have a baby is so appealing to me! To stop someone having to go through this seems wonderful!

I was just wondering if any of you ladies had any experience of egg sharing? Reading all of your posts (although I'm sure you'll excuse me as I couldnt get through all of them. Think work would have noticed!!) has really inspired me, your all doing fantastically!

Thank you so much for letting me join in!

    Baby dust to you all!!!!!

    Hi Smash - welcome.

Don't forget that (depending on where you live and which primary care trust) you may well be entitled to NHS treatment in the first instance, and egg sharing etc may be something to bear in mind for a bit later. Well done for getting yourself to the doctors, it'll all get going from here, though I'm sure the process will seem intolerably slow.
You'll find us a supportive bunch, keep checking in and I hope your stay with us is nice and short!
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

    Welcome Smash :j

As Jiblet said you do get treatment free on the NHS (assuming you are in the UK?) but each NHS Trust has pre requisites for treatments and timescales but its well worth speaking to your Doctor first to find out what is available to you (also your OH will need tests).

We do talk about Moneysaving every now and again - although this forum recently has been a bit Moneyspending. It relieves the stress :p

Hello and welcome Sugardonut and Smash

Sarah, sorry to hear you're having such a hard time at the moment and just when you should be taking it easy! Good luck for your scan.

    I did get a discount :D:money:

Jiblets - you are right about the process seeming intolerably slow, I'm still waiting for the appointment for my cyst removal to come through. It's taking forrreeeevvveeerrr! I would have gone private if I'd known it would take this long (more money spending, sorry!) but they said it would be done in March/April. March I could bear, April would just be another few weeks (assuming it wouldn't be over Easter) but now its very likely to be May
