The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Conceive when its just not happening (12m+)

My boss knows that I had IVF.
Before I told him, I used to take hour there or here, as I have flexible hours, have half a day off, work from home, and then catch up in the evening with work. When I had laporoscopy, I told him I am having a minor surgery and I will be off work for 2 weeks afterwards.
When we knew that we will be going for IVF, I told him that and said that I will need time off for appointments. He knows someone (friends, I guess) who has been through IVF with a successful outcome, and I guess that made it easier. He is a very understanding boss, and after my first scan, when they decided that they have to drain the cyst, I was sitting in the office in pain, he kept asking if I am ok, and if not I should be going home (he didn't know what procedure I had).
I am not sure how much I will be telling him about the next cycle, I guess it will depend on the work (travel and similar).
CCMonster - I didn't tell my boss when I had my first attempt I just kept saying I had hospital appointments to sort my Thyroid out (which I do have) and took the rest of the time off as holiday. I found that quite stressful so I told my boss on my last attempt, especially as I moved hospital which was over an hour away, and though I had to still take time off as holiday he was generally good and flexible with me. He now knows I have got attempt 3 starting and he has just asked for the dates when I know, hopefully he will be supportive again.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -

I'm watching a mad clock whizzing and feel if it doesn't happen by my 40th that's it, i know that's not always the case but i'm 39 in june and know my odds have dropped since first trying at 34 xxx
Also does anyone have any advice if i wanted to change clinic how easy is it to move my frosties?

We take the Sanatogen version, and are currently in the 2ww, however it is with IVf so who knows. I think most pregnancy vits are pretty much the same, and a great idea to take.
Runner, thats is typical isn't it, but I bet it feels great to ask them to redraw! When is your scan hun?
I think I would put an announvement on FB, I have been very public about our issues, I find it stops people asking stupid questions, and making comments about it being us next etc, and it has worked for us, I don't want pity but a bit of consideration is nice.
However, not many people know we are going atm so no announcement til 12 weeks if at all possible!
2ww is going slowly as always, hubby gone back to work today so I won't see him til Friday night. Out of all my cycles I have only made test day pre AF once so knicker check has started in earnest! 7 days to go, eeeek.
Have a great day ladies.

Hi, I changed hospital and had to move some frozen sperm, you can get someone to do it for you which they have to recommend and it was going to cost me about £150 but I decided to do it myself in the end. It was a few trips back and forth collecting the correct container etc but was easy.
I haven't done any specific diets before my IVF just cut our chocolate and try and eat more healthly but would be interested if anyone had any tips on successful IVFs.
I know how you feel with your head whirring again, I feel a bit the same but trying to remain calm and positive. Have the Drs gave you any idea why its not working or is it a case of they don't know.
Good luck to everyone.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
Hi all,
After posting for the first time last week I've had a hell of a few days. I was devastated when my AF started 9 days ago as it was now 18 months of trying with no success at age 35, but was ready to go to the doctors to get referred for further tests. Then over the weekend I realised that although I had been having light bleediing for a week, I had not had the usual couple of days with heavier bleeding at all yet. I decided to try a PG test on Monday night just out of interest and I couldn't believe it when there was a faint positive.
Yesterday, I went to the doctors on an emergency appointment and she confirmed I was 5 weeks pregnant and contacted the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. They said they were not worried by the slight bleeding and gave me an appointment for next Tuesday to go have a vaginal ultrasound to see if they could find anything. Later on in the day as I got up from sitting on the sofa for a long time I could feel a lot more blood (sorry if TMI) and when I went to the toilet the blood was more bright red and a lot more of it. I panicked and phoned the doctors again who told me to go back down. The same doctor I'd seen in the morning had a look at my cervix, said it was slightly open and I was now going to have a miscarriage. She said to keep the appointment next week as they could check to see if everything had gone but try and be positive as we had conceived in the first place.
I'm feeling completely numb at the moment and don't know what to do with myself. Am now stuck waiting for the miscarriage to actually happen, the bleeding is the same as yesterday and has not got worse, I've got no pain or cramps yet and don't know how long it will be before it all actually happens.0 -
So sorry mnc you must be deverstated to say the least. Nothing I can say will help but thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs.
I can only have a 2 day transfer again this time as due to Easter. Not a lot I can do about it. FSH levels are 6 which is better than the 11 I had last time. EC on 19th April. Here we go again, deep breaths!BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
Mnc so sorry xx there is a miscarriage thread on this board which might be a source of comfort to u xxx
Ju that's horrid because of easter they r doing a 2day transfer though my 1st was a 3 day and 2nd was blasto at 5, they said what they froze later that day actually went to a better grade and they r the frozen i will be using xx
I know a lovely comper who had a 2 day transfer and she had twins so it's all swings and roundabouts xx
I had a few miscarriages 4/5 year back then lost twins to still birth, since then can't get pregnant hence ivf, icsi.
it seems the issue is my lining but it seems okay, I have had a few exploratories and they found nothing, so it's totally unexplained.
At least if i had a reason i could get things dealt with but they find nothing x
The hospital i want to move embryos too if this fet doesn't work is 3 miles from Guy's,
I don't drink caffeine around ivf times and stop choc and keep away from seafish etc, i'm going to try get the pessaries after as injection format like the states as i always wonder if they r heading the right direction when they melt lol x
Loads of luck ladies xx#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

The pessaries are very messy and melt over ur undies!
http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=87303.12
That shows oneof many many ivfers trying to figure it out x
I'm hoping the change of pessaries to pio injections might mean a chance for me, my embabies are good, I react well to ivf+icsi, maybe a bit more neurotic than normal, it's just that end stage i come a cropper every time xxx
Ivf is def a learning curve! xx#JusticeForGrenfell0
