    Oh man, the next four months are going to be tough at work.

    The woman I sit beside is pg, due in April. To be fair, she doesn't talk about it much unless someone asks her - but she's only started **looking** pg this week. It's going to be a punch in the guts every day now until she goes off on maternity leave..

    And she got pg first month of trying..that grates..

    ++++++++

    Best comment of pg woman to me this week (and she knows of my probs TTC):

    Her: '(staring at stomach) Have you lost weight? You look like you've lost weight around your stomach.'

    Me: 'No, it's just because I'm not pg, and you are. It's a relative thing. My stomach just isn't getting bigger like yours. Thanks though (for reminding me..)'

    OK, paranoid, she was just trying to be nice. But somehow unconsciously rubbing my face in it...

    The I offered her a cake: 'Oh cake, that's one of my pregnancy cravings. Everytime I'm pregnant, I eat way too much cake. I never diet when I'm pregnant. Are you having one?'

    Me: 'No, I'm not pregnant, I have no excuse. (And being fat isn't likely to help my chances of TTC.) But you dig in. I'm so pleased for you that the nasty morning sickness has now gone...

    +++++

    Ooh - feeling a little bitter all of a sudden..!

    CD18. Testing in..10 days.

    I know what everyone keeps saying - you only need 1 egg, but I honestly don't hold much hope. Let's be honest - you read about 10-15 eggs collected and only few of those fertilising, I have 1 egg. There is no fall back.
    Fingers crossed:)

    It worked - we have one fertilised egg, ET is tomorrow. I am going to rest for the rest of the weekend, I don't care that there are piles of washing to be done and house needs a thorough cleaning - we have a heating engineer in changing the boiler at the moment (it is the 3rd day, and he might need to finish off tomorrow).

    Will say a little prayer for you. I gave up religon when I left home (18 years of Catholicism rammmed down your throat will do that!) but just lately i've been wondering. Well, it won't hurt will it?

    Thank you so much! I grew up 'behind the iron curtain', where religion was no no, and I loved going to church when I got a chance to. I am not a very religious person, and I haven't been to church for over a year, but I still 'talk' to god time from time. My family is not religious at all, and I wasn't really supported when I used to go to church at home, but then each to their own.

    I hope it works, but I need to prepare myself for other outcome too. I think this morning I had given up already, and I wasn't expecting to have positive news. When the embyologist called, I wanted to cry, and have a moment to myself, but I have my heating engineer here, who is very chatty, and I didn't have a chance. I called my husband and just told him 'that it worked' and what time we need to be there tomorrow. He is going away with work next week, so I will be on my own. Well, I bought the 6 seasons of Dr. House in Amazon's Black Friday sales....

    We'll be here with you honey. I'll be checking in regularly for news or ramblings :rotfl: It's odd given that I don't know any of you, but as time passes, I feel I have more in common with you guys than my 'real' friends.

  • Hello,
    I was really happy to find this thread last night and I wondered if I could join you ?

    My story is this, married for 3 years and ttc for most of that time. Had miscarriage early last year, only about 5 weeks gone :cry: and nothing has happened for me since. Currently seeing specialist, if thats what you call her - have suspected PCOS (although all tests are fine but have some symptoms) and a bicornuate uterus (which could explain my miscarriage). So far I have tried clomid for 3 months (awful time) and now I am about to have my second month of FSH injections. Unfortunately my specialist will not refer me for IUI or IVF because of my miscarriage - i have to have been 'infertile' for 3 whole years :mad: and under those rules I would have to wait until middle of 2012 before getting referred !

    The FSH injections are really messing with my cycle and I was four days late so i tested yesterday and had negative result, ended up crying and feeling worthless all over again. Mother nature arrived this morning and is giving me a very hard time!

    It would be great to be able to share
    thanks

    Hi staffiecat, welcome to the club... Hope you don't have to stay here long (for right reasons). We have been trying for just over 3 years, and as you see from my earlier posts, we are on our first IVF journey, which hasn't been very smooth.

    Where are you? as this is the first time I hear about the 3-year rule! I know some PCTs cut the funding to IVF, but no 3-year rule...

    (Sorry, I am at home all day, so just keep checking the thread...)

    Hi Staffiecat, welcome to the club! We're mostly a merry bunch, despite what we're all going through.

    I second what Gin said. Where in the country are you? I know our PCT stipulates you must have been infertile for 2 years before they'll start treatment.
