Gin - well done on exchanging contracts and nice to see everything is moving on, I know its a long journey but hopefully a BFP will come out of it.

QQuaver - well done on egg growth ands being brave with needle in your bum! When is the IUI taking palce?

Sarah - well done on your weight loss

Star - so sorry to hear about your mc, hopefully better luck next time and you will get a nice Christmas surprise. Yes I am doing ICSI.

Lilo - test now - you never know - fingers crossed

Been for my scan this morning and all I can say bloody eggs grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Right - 13, 13, 12, 12, 11.5, 11, 10.5, 5 under 10
    Left - 12, 2 less than 10

As you can see they haven't grown that much from Tuesdays scan, I am such a slow grower this happened last time. On a postive note at least there all around the same size. They are giving me more drugs now (6 powders as to 4) to take today, Sat and Sun. I have moved my EC date to Wed instead of Tues just to give me a bit longer stimming and hopefully they will all grow more by then. Which now means a 2 day transfer instead of a 3 day (which is what I wanted) but I would rather stim for longer and have more eggs if possible. They said they will take anything over 14mm but hopefully they will be bigger than that. I have another scan on Monday to check the size so I better so some growing over the weekend.

Any tips on growing would be very helpful!

IUI is tomorrow at 12:30pm. DH needs to produce a sample by 8:30 - 9:30am.

As for egg growing, I've been putting my legs up on the wall for few minute every day to get some blood into my ovaries. It didn't help at all last cycle though:o

    Hi all,

wondered if you could clear something up for me and my wife. We have been planning to start trying for a baby for a while now and so had plenty of time to note down and track my wifes menstrual cycle in order to work out approximately when she ovualtes.

Lucky for us she is a regular as can be and consistently has a 26 day cycle so thats one piece of the jigsaw completed. After 4 months of trying ( using fertile dates for a 26 day cycle) we were worried that maybe her menstrual cycle is regular but her ovualtion time wasnt, so we went out and bought some ovulation predictor kits.

The thing we are unsure about is this - When the ovualtion test comes up positive, does that mean we should have already been trying to concieve in the days before, or as it is a predictor does this mean we should start trying now because in "X" amount of days my wife will ovulate? Or both? The issue we have is that it is difficult for us to try each day for days on end due to work commitments and other reasons.

Can anyone give us any advice on this? Thanks in advance

I actually think that the important thing is not to get stressed or hung up on it.

Apparantly women ovulate 14 days before their period starts.
So for your wife that would be day 12 of her cycle.

The egg is supposed to be viable for 12 hours - your erm swimmers may take a day or two to reach the egg, so you want to be trying a day or two before. Allowing for a day or so's error in the timing you want to be trying every couple days leading up to the egg being released and during the fertile period. Not every day though as apparantly the effect can be diluted.

Most couple should concieve within a year or so of trying - but if not if might be worth consulting the docs.

    HTH and wasnt to graphic.

One should ovulate 12-36hrs after the first positive opk:)

Does she have enough cervical mucus? If not, she may like to try drinking grapefruit juice from few days before ov. Other ways are taking Robitussin cough syrup (red box, the one without decongestant), or use special ttc lubricant like Preseed. I do all three:p

    Done my first ever IUI!:)
    It was painless!
The eggs, lining and my cm was good:cool:

BUT..... the doctor said DH's sperm was disappointing:o
So the chance of pregnancy is very low this time.

    Hi

Qquaver - glad the IUI went well but sorry about DH sperm. Remember it only takes 1 so you're still in with a chance. Does he take anything for it? My DH takes this: http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=1394&prodid=1245

Star, DH took the Wellman conception for months before his first SA in June, but since it was so bad, the doctor prescribed different supplements which he had been taking, but as you can see, it hasn't made much difference:o

I'm taking Pregnacare, Vitamin B50 complex and Vitamin E tablets with selenium. Also I take Robitussin near ov, and use Preseed and drink pineapple juice from ov.
