  • Glad the IUI was trouble free, QQuaver - and like the others say, it only takes one sperm to get the egg - and they have selected all the good ones! I will have my fingers and toes crossed for you XX

Well I gave in and tested this morning and sadly a BFN - so I dont know what all the symptoms were about! Quite disappointed cos I really did think this month was looking promising. Never mind, carry on trying!!!

  • Thank VK, I dont normally get sucked into the am I/arent I - after 7 1/2 years, I know my symptoms pretty well, and I was about 75% so allowed myself to hope! Never mind, Im happy, healthy and have one! I dont give up though! carry on this month!!!!

Hi Lilo - I have altogether stopped symptom spotting. The only symptom that counts is a line as far as I'm concerned.

Your attitude is quite right..and just about all of this could apply to me too. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't, but I have to stop expecting sth to happen every month, when the odds are against it. And count my blessings.

    I'm on CD3.

I am joining lilo and chickpea club. Ok, we have only been trying for 3 years. I have stopped hoping every month that it is going to happen 'this month'. It might happen, it might well not.

I am starting IVF this month, and even that doesn't give me much hope. I have just seen on another forum that 2 ladies had high number of maturing follicles. One of them already had EC, and they wouldn't do ET for her until she had 3 months rest due to high number of eggs collected (28!!!!). The second lady has 42 follicles growing. So, I am preparing myself that even if I get to the EC, I might not have ET this year. It is going to be hard though if this happens...

Glad the IUI went well QQuaver - looking forward to some positive news.

Been for my last scan today - thank god!

All good news, after extra drugs and few more days the results are in

    Right - 18.5, 17.5, 17, 15.5, 14.5, 14, 12.5, 11, 10
    Left - 14.5, 3 under 10

Ok left side is a bit lazy but have some good sizes on the right and I have EC on Wednesday, lets just hope there is an egg in every follicle and they all fertilise. Everything crossed for Wednesday.

    Positive thinking all round.!

Hi Gin - I've never had IVF, but I imagine the way to get through it is just to do what you're told and seriously distract yourself from the process the rest of the time, with books, DVDs, magazines or whatever it takes. (Stick to comedy!).

I wish you all the luck in the world. You do stand a good chance, I hope it's your turn.

It is a long haul though. One way to make the time pass quicker might be to leave all your Christmas shopping to the very last minute. I find the run-up to Christmas always goes so much quicker when I have neglected to buy any presents!
    +++++++++++

I was hideously jealous of a woman on the ferry yesterday. She had a two yr old, a one yr old and a large bump. I even scowled at her. It was because I quite often scowl at hyper-fertile people. I really should stop that..! She may have wondered why a random stranger was scowling at her...

Sounds promising JuJu. I hope all does go well on Wednesday and there's some good eggs in the mix.

My left ovary is much smaller than my right one. Perhaps we all have a leading ovary? I don't know. Although the left-right imbalance is also present in my hands and feet, my left foot is about half a size smaller than my right, and my left wrist and fingers are thinner than on the right. Thankfully this left-right imbalance doesn't extend to my (o)(o)s or my eyes...!

    Good luck.

Maybe it will be our turn. I already have got something to distract myself with - we bought a house (nearly, completion end of November). Since we live in it anyway, we are asking landlord if we can start works. So, it is my job to do all the works (OH hates diy), contact tradesman for boiler change, seek out the external doors for the house and find the best prices (preferably free would be OH option - not gonna happen!). I am turning a year older in a week or so, and my friends gave me a wallpaper stripper for my birthday - I love them for that. I prefer practical gifts like that (I had a cordless drill one year). Still need to get sander and a new set of brushes!

I wish I went for IVF, I can't go for an IVF any time this year now, since I have to leave DH in Nov:( I could do it next year though, February onwards...
