  • Congratulations Kairi!

I joined this thread last week to ask about a BBT thermometer. I've now bought one and am on CD17, so is it worth starting to use this or did I ought to wait until the 1st day of AF?

Also, I just wondered if anyone has any advice in general about ttc whilst having PCOS? I eat healthily, excercise, have been prescribed metaformin tablets and am also taking folic acid but is there anyting else that may help? As I mentioned in my previous posts, we've been trying for about 2 years but it's only since being prescribed metaformin last week that I really feel I ought to be investigating other possible helpful avenues as well. As none of my friends have this problem no-one has been able to offer any advice. I keep seeing mention of somethign called pre-seed and also a bit about grapefruit juice (on the trying for a baby part 6 thread). Please can someone explain these to me as I've not heard of this before.

    Thanks :)

Good luck on your scan tomorrow Jujubaboo:)

I had my scan today (CD12), and there were 2 follicles both measuring a bit over 11mm, next to each other on my left ovaries.

The doctor thinks I'll ov at the end of the week.
We are going for another scan on Thursday (CD15), and hopefully do the IUI on Friday or Saturday:cool:

Good luck for your next scan and the IUI I hope it works.

PinkPeach, I'd start using the thermometer from tomorrow morning.
It is so easy to forget, so better get used to it:o
Also, I don't know if you've ov'd already or not, but you would be able to see what your luteal phase (post ov) temps are like;)

As for Preseed, it is for people will less than optimal cervical mucus:p
You know one needs them to be of egg white consistency so the OH/DH's swimmers can swim in it? It can't swim in thin air.

Other ways of increasing cm is drinking grapefruit juice (from about 5 days before ov, one glass everyday). The other way is to take Robitussin cough syrup (red box, not the one with decongestant) from 5 days before ov, 3 times a day.

I have PCOS, but am not on metformin - yet. I take Vitamin B50 complex every night. Don't know if it helps or not:o
  • Thanks QQuaver. It amazes me how some people manage this without even trying and I feel like I'm running through an obstacle course:D

11mm...WOW!! I imagined that they'd be on a microscopic scale but then I guess that they wouldn't be visible on a scan if they were. Sending lots of positive ov vibes your way Quaver

Good luck with your scan too Jujugaboo - hope you've been growing some good eggs in there.

    First of all - congratulations.

When I had my course of Clomid, I was advised to test if AF doesn't arrive by certain day (I think it was day 35, but can't be too sure). If it is positive, then call the clinic/hospital for them to arrange the scan.

What CD are you now? I think I would give them a call and say that you had a positive test, and see what they say. I was told they would do scan in week 6, so depending what day you are on, it might be another 2 weeks. The reason being that very early on they cannot see much...

I'm on CD27. I've been trying to get hold of them but to no avail so far as i would like to know if I need to carry on taking Metformin or not. And there's that worry about the pain in my tummy

I guess CD35 would be 5 weeks and out of the chemical pregnancy bracket. I've already got a couple of pg tests at home to try again next week.

Just incase you think a follicle is an egg:D, 11mm is the diameter of the follicle. Follicle is a fluid filled sack containing tiny egg. It needs to grow to about 20mm for it to pop the egg out. Follicles grow about 1-2mm/day:cool:

I did realise that the follicle houses the egg but its still much bigger than I imagined - I just imagine everything in there to be tiny...apparently not so! You are a fountain of knowledge Q! :D
