jiblets, a silly question - but do you get signed off work by doctors for any amount of time after EC/ET, or you just take holidays? I am just trying to find out how this works... I know I will want to stay at home for a few days at least afterwards, so I would probably have to take holiday or 'declare myself ill' for up to 7 days...

Ginvt, I couldn't tell you 100% as I've just started my summer holiday from school. But I'm almost definate that you get signed off for a fortnight. To be honest I'm so exhausted today and yesterday there's no way I could do my job at the moment. Whether it's the procedure or the stress I'm not sure, but I went out for a coffee earlier and it has nearly done me in...

I took 3 days off sick - the day of the EC and then the two following days. I then took the next week and a half off as annual leave until I got my result.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

So not as relevant as all the rest of your problems but i'm feeling really self indulgent tonight.

12DPO and tested (early) this morning with a BFN (although found out after, the test was 25mui and not designed for this early on). Af is due Monday. Not really sure why i'm surprised at the - Having best friend and her kids in the house hasn't helped with the broodiness, i'm sure.

SS like you wouldn't believe whilst still not really believing it can happen for us after 15 cyles and stilll not even a TLP - leading to me feeling the way I am now.

Have you ever been convinced you're PG but at the same time convinced it'll never happen?

My clinic gave me a sick note for the 2ww.It just said I'd "undergone a medical procedure" and therefore needed 14 days rest.

I work for the NHS and I also found out that they actually have a policy
that allows 14 days leave during the 2ww (without a sick note).

I am PUPO, ladies. ET was easy peasy, so know I'm over mam's with my feet up. My parents are always really calm and collected so I was really surprised to see how excited they were when we got here. Bless them, they've held a lot in I think so as not to pressure me.

For us, ginvzt, OH was with me for the ET and we both watched it on the ultrasound screen. We could see the catheter go in, we saw a little squirt when they transferred the embryo, and we got to take a picture of our embryo up on the screen before they put it in. I don't know if I'd advise OH going in with you for EC tbh. Hubby wasn't with me, and i think he'd have been worried if he was. It didn't hurt me at all, but I think there was maybe a lot of grumbling and groaning from my semi-conscious self that might have been upsetting.

16 days waiting now, then we need to POAS.:T:T:T

Glad everything went ok for you.

Enjoy being PUPO .I drove myself crazy during the 2ww by "googling" everything from IVF statistics to symptom spotting.

I went from being sure it had worked to being convinced it had failed at least every hour - how anybody ever remains sane is beyond me !!

SK I've felt like that every month from about 4 months on. It had been getting better as I'd been focusing more on waiting for tests than on AF each month, but I was pretty bad again this month.

I'm now on my 15th cycle (so one behind you I think?) And again not even a tlp. The closest I've come so far is being 6 days late, but I was testing a lot in those days so can only 'hope' it was a chemical miscarriage (if I'd have known at the time it would've been devastating but to look back now at least its something).

My AF symptoms are pretty much identical to pg symptoms so I always get my hopes up thinking there's a good reason for feeling like s**t, but after so long it also doesn't seem possible.

What will be will be - delve into a good book and try to take your mind off it - yeah right! ;)

Glad you are all talking about time off for the 2ww as I was discussing this yesterday with my family. A friend of a friend has just got pregnant after her 2ww and she had 2 weeks off work as that is what the clinic suggested. Last time I only had a week and took it as annual leave. This time I think I will have the full 2 weeks off and see if I can get a sick note from my Dr. My work are not going to be happy as I am going to have to tell them I am going for IVF as I will need time of for blood tests and scans and the clinic is an hour drive from my home, I expect I will be taking this time off unpaid.

AF arrived yesterday (on my birthday!!!) I spoke to the clinic and said that my period in Sept is going to be at the very end and is there any chance I can start my treatment at the end of August, they said I can ring and see if they can fit me in, fingers crossed!!.
