  • Hi there!
I posted earlier about my dodgy cycle after a mc last year - I was waiting for my period, which did finally come (over 10 days late for no explainable reason).

Anyway, I then had a phone chat with the doctor and booked an appointment in at the hospital - which is in a couple of weeks. I've already had a few tests there - my hormone levels were all normal and I don't have PCOS.
I think the next tests will be for fertility (they said something about more blood tests, seeing if my tubes are open, seeing how OH's swimmers are doing).

What I wanted to ask you ladies was about hormone treatment as that what the doctor then mentioned. I'm in the Netherlands so I don't know what everything is called here compared to the UK. The doc said something like that it would be a tablet I take near the beginning of my cycle to bring on ovulation.

I just wanted to find out a bit more about this medication, side effects, how effective it is etc. Does anyone know what this tablet is likely to be??

    You can always whisper:D
I had that few times in the past, hope it's not related to ttc:shocked:

NO!!!! Whispering can be even more harmful to your vocal chords than shouting, however strange it sounds. I am trying to keep any talking (whispering, as nothing else comes out!) to a minimum. Will be weird when my boss comes in later on. I will be looking like a very rude person at work today not talking to anyone or saying hello!

    Really? Didn't know that:shocked:
You should write 'Hello! (no voice today sorry!)' in big letters and present it whenever people greets you:p

Thanks QQuaver! My appt is in June too....
I thought it might be clomid from reading on this thread and have now just been reading about it - I guess that's what they were talking about

Hello all. Just thought I'd pop in even though I have no real news. YOU might remember that we're not ttc right now as I want to lose a good amount of weight. Happily I've lost a stone, my BMI is now 28.5. When I get it to 25 I'm going to start ttc again, which feels really weird. I've totally got out of thinking about it, about OPKs and cycles and charting and all that malarkey. It's been a nice break in a way, without pressure (well, pressure to lose weight, but the medical diet I'm on has made that so much easier). Hopefully eight or so more weeks should get me at goal and then I'll be raring to go. Would love to get a +ve before my 40th birthday in September, so better get my skates on!

    Hope you're all well.

Sarah - well done on weight loss!!! And I have to agree - it is good to have a break once in a while...

Well, I think I might be ut for this month. No AF yet, but started spotting and it seems to be increasing. CD 26 here, a bit early, but it would work out well if AF shows up by tomorrow lunchtime, as then I can have my scan next Friday.

I still need to lose some weight to get referral, but I am determined to get there! I have about 2kg to go... (And yes, I would like to get to BMI 25 and will keep working towards it)

My appointment is in June as well, really don't know what to expect but I have PCOS so I am hoping that that is what is causing the problem and not anything else.

    Mine's June 9th:j
I am planning on taking my BBT chart (FertilityFriend). Will delete the dtd dates (haven't timed it well).

    What are you taking?
  • What is bbt and dtd??

I've been doing the temp charts and ovulation tests for the last 4 or 5 cycles and before that just cycle lengths since my mc, so I'll take that.
I think my appt is just to organize various fertility tests. At the last appt in Feb where they were checking my cycle they already asked if I wanted clomid (if that's what it is).
I said no as I thought my cycle would be back to normal, but as it's still so irregular, I'm really thinking I should go for it now.
