Ok, I was naughty and whilst looking for other items I could make myself for baby room (like nursery tidy), I came across a cot, that I fell in love with.... I am not saying I want exactly that one, but I love the idea of it and would love to have something like it. Now, the one I saw is pricey at £590 - how can I persuade my OH, that it is worth spending so much money on baby furniture, as his idea is £100 is too much for all of the stuff (furniture, bits, pushchair... - he is a bit tight with money, although we can easily afford it).

Ginvzt, if I were to show my OH something like that, he would instantly say he could make better for less money! Men, eh.
I can't blame you for looking when you've got time on your hands, I'm sure we've all been there and done that, x
Nowadays I just make myself stick to things on my always long to-do list - as most of them can be done sitting down! You have reminded me that I used to cross stitch quite a bit a while ago when bed-bound - but I now have the urge to start knitting hot water bottle covers! Bizarre and random thought, that one...0 -

Well, my OH wouldn't say he would make it, as I am the more handy one (plumbing, tiling, decorating in our previous house).
I had a period of knitting squares for cleaning (about 10cmx10cm) last year - very useful for wiping down things and dusting!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hello everyone!:hello: Still lurking to keep up with you all! Thanks for thinking of me Lilo - 2nd scan was good - all on target with a good strong heartbeat on Beanie #1, and a clear semi-developed sac for Beanie #2, meaning it was unviable but at least in the right place and not another ectopic, which we had most feared. It should be re-absorbed so when we get our 1st NHS scan it should be gone. A little tinge of sadness for #2, but much happiness and hope for #1 to continue growing well.
Ginvzt - I used to love X-stitch, tapestry etc, and always hoped to make loads of stuff when I finally conceived, but sadly I've now got psoriatic arthritis and find it painful to sew too much - I managed to hem a skirt and sew on 2 buttons last week, then my fingers were so stiff I couldn't move them! It's very frustrating!
I love that cot/furniture combo! I have been looking at baby furniture (SHH - don't tell my DH - he is paranoid about me planning stuff 'too early'!!!). With my MS head on, I know that I can renovate the old stuff that is currently in the room and make it do, and all I really need to get is a cot, but doesn't stop me looking!
Jiblets - my AF was all over the place when I was on Clomid - one month so light it hardly happened, then another month I could agree with the 'niagara falls' analogy!
Love, luck & baby dust to all!

I luuuuurve that cot ginvzt. I dont blame you for wanting that - when we had DS we had all these thoughts of not getting much, not spending much etc etc, but when it came to it and we were looking round, we fell in love with a cot, wardrobe and chest/changing unit and spent £1800!!!!! But he is 6 years old and he is still using everything except the cot so not bad I suppose. Obviously if no 2 comes along it will get more use ..... The only problem is that I really need to change some of it - the changing chest of drawers is just too big, and he really needs a desk, but as it was so expensive I am not sure what to do - I could sell but wouldnt get a fraction back, although it is solid pine/
I dont think Id better join in the discussion on cross stitch, I havent finished the sampler that I started when preg with DS ..........

I missed you posting FE, good to see you - I tried to post on the new thread to say hello but it wouldnt let me - perhaps it knew I wasnt pregnant? Anyway will try again today - glad that you have your strong heartbeat and that you know what happened to bean 2. Take care and enjoy!! - and part of the fun of being pregnant is planning all the bits! Renovate or buy new, doesnt really matter so long as you enjoy yourself!!

It is pricey isn't it? But then just this one unit converts to bed, chest of drawers, shelving unit and desk!!! So, it is a whole room for the next many years, as the bed becomes a full size single bed... I would add a wardrobe, maybe another chest of drawers and a toy box and we are done, but that would push it over £1000 mark...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hello
Is it ok if I join you? Just trying to catch up with it all on this thread, but for those who've not met me on the other TTC thread ....a quick intro...
Me 35, DH 40. Been together 11 years, not using BC for 7+ years, married 2yrs. More actively TTC 8 months (although after 7 years of not being careful always a little sceptical) Just had my bloods done - all fine. DH has only 8% effective sperm (no mention of count) but basically told next to no chance....
Not sure of our options now, what we do next .....doctors just given us results nothing else ....2009 total raised £2373.60:jthe new garden beat me in 2010 just £1306.66:o2011 - 365 £ a day.
Life Changing October 2011 - DF & £10000 saved - twins came - no plans

Hi Cedrickerry,
Sorry to hear your DH's diagnosis - and that the Dr just gave you the results with no advice - sometimes they really are so useless at these things and just don't understand the emotional upheaval all this causes!
I would guess that you may be looking at IVF eventually, but what you need to do now is ask to be referred to a specialist fertility clinic. The GP should be able to give you an idea of the waiting time for an appt (they can find this info out easier than you - ususally one call for them!) - if it is a long time and you can afford it, you may want to go private, but it's still best to have a referral from your GP even for that, as then the clinic can get access to results from your GP. Depending on your particular circumstances there may be other options they can advise, but I am pretty sure there will be something that can be done, so don't give up hope!
My DH has antisperm antibodies, so our chances of conceiving 'naturally' are next to impossible, but with ICSI the clinic were able to 'wash' the sperm and select the healthiest ones to fertilise my eggs.
Oh - I also put him on a 'healthy sperm diet' for our 3rd attempt - I can't remember who wrote it, but the book is called something like 'getting pregnant faster' - lots of healthy eating and tonnes of vitamins and mineral supplements! Can't tell 100% if it was that but I followed the advice too, and (fingers crossed) it's so far so good for us this time!
Good luck with whatever you decide,

Hi cedrickerry, well you and I know each other well from the TTC thread! So hello from over here and you have probably already read that everybody has different experiences to share, so don't give up hope - you just never, ever know!0
