Shelly, my af has changed over time as well. I used to be 7 days regular (3 days heave, 1 light, 3 medium). Now, the last few months (probably aided by clomid), it was 4-5 days spotting, then 48 hours or less heavy-ish AF. Last month, it was 48 hours only AF, no spotting. Will see what happens next.

This month though, feels very different. TMI alert - I have so much cm, it is shocking me. I had a found a good lump yesterday (think end of thumb size), and plenty more today. Never had this much!!!!

I have managed to slip in the shower today, and good thing I didn't bash out with the door. I thought I was fine, but I am getting some pain in the lower back now, so maybe I pulled something in the end. Had to get to the office this morning as my manager said he will be coming in and wanted to meet. But, as I was nearly at the office, he called to tell me that he is not coming in as the roads in his area are deadly. He might be coming in tomorrow now. But I am not moving out of my house until he calls me and says he is on his way or in the office!

I had 4 months of Clomid and this the first Clomid free month after that. I have to say, it is great not feeling nauseous and having all the pains and niggles.

Hope you are okay ginvzt, you are supposed to need to be careful in the snow and ice not in the shower! Grrrr to bosses that put you out and then let you down ............. I can just hear his responce if he had got in, and you had trotted out his tale of treacherous roads. And make sure you make the most of all that CM!!!

Glad AF is over Shelly, good luck for this month.

    Hi Stef

    Lilo

Thanks, Lilo! He is a nice guy, and he would have understood if I was not in. The thing is, I was sure he will not be in, but he said he will try to get in and it would be good to get together before we have a meeting with the client next week. He needs to cross the peaks, and it is always very bad roads there, so I really understand him.

I will see about 'making most of the cm' - I am not in the mood for it at all...

I had 3 straight months on Clomid and a 2 month break while i went off and got married, honeymooned and whatnot before getting an appointment with the consultant. When i went back i was prescribed a further 3 months to get on with on next cycle but to also have folicular tracking on month one then months two and three back on the cd3 and cd 21 blood tests. I asked the fertility nurse during my scan how long the clomid would work for and she said it can stay in the system a few months depending on your build etc plus as i had been back on the clomid that month i mentioned that i had not had the side effects which i got the previous 3 months and she said it was a sign the previous lot was still in the system and the new course was not overloading my system so symptoms had settled.

Do you have to go back and get anymore?

I have my appointment in 2 weeks (unless cancelled again), and I don't know what is going to happen. I guess I will be given more Clomid, maybe with racking this month. I don't really want any more of it, as I have been ovulating without it, but I won't dear to say no to my consultant, I just know myself... I am too much of a chicken not to agree to everything doctors say...

If you are not happy with it then say you do not want it but then you also have to look at what your other options are. I have already been told i will not be eligible for IUI or IVF if i am not successful on the clomid.

IMO i think a couple of miserable months on clomid with the possibility of a bean at the end of it out weighs the side effects. I ovulate perfectly well and am prescribed the clomid as a booster because my husband is disabled and on a number of drugs for pain relief as well as a clinical trial which they dont know yet whether or not it affects male fertility.

Have they given you any idea how many courses you could be given? I have been told with my PCT it is licensed for 6 months use but they will give it up to twelve months but no longer as it stops working after this time.

No, I don't know how many month it could be. I guess that is one of the questions to ask my consultant...

See my only gripe with the clomid now is i have just had a mc. Clomid boosts the chance of multiple births and so does mc and i have family history of twins. I have been advised as soon as next af arrives to start straight back on the clomid but do i really want to risk a multiple birth?
