Minor final gripe of the day. There is a strange parasitic plant in my garden called dodder. Its only on one pot plant, but my internet review tells me it is a very invasive thing, and I have to get rid of the whole plant, the soil, and hope that the seeds haven't spread.
Why am I mentioning this? Well, I was wondering how we could possibly have picked up this plant. It's just in one pot that is on the table outside. My internet googling took me to 'dodder seed' - which suddenly threw up a lot of chinese medicine references. I've been taking/cooking up chinese medicine in the garden over the summer - so I'm guessing I dropped a few seeds!
So I now have parasites in the garden as a result of TTC. Infertility... is there no end to the annoyance you can bring!0 -
tea - I was only there about 6 times during IVF, maybe I wasn't being monitored enough??! 20 times is loads though if you needed a long drive to get there.
PM - forgive my ignorance, but are you not on IVF and is lots of follies not a good thing?
T2D, I feel for you, I really do. It is so frustrating when you are at the mercy of other people and they don't seem to be taking things as seriously as you need them to. My advice would be to book the holiday, go and relax and then come back ready to kick some !!!! (or come back to a nice surprise that the docs have chatted and are ready to proceed with a plan!)
'Infertility... is there no end to the annoyance you can bring!' - I don't think there is an end to the annoyance I'm afraid. Grrrrrr0 -
While it's not the same Tea, I'm also having doctor rage today.
I've been having this problem of blood in the uterus now for a few months - first identified in July. Since then I have been bounced from one doctor to another for repeats of the same painful and intrusive tests. Fertility doc says they won't go ahead with IVF until it's resolved, oncologist says he doesn't think its a problem. So I am stuck.
The results are inconclusive, but I finally got the doctors to agree to talk to each other in August. It's now 24 September, and they still haven't managed to even get their secretaries to make a phone call to each other! And now the IVF doctor is on holidays again. It's a joke - I'm so frustrated, and I fully understand Tea why you end up crying. It just feels so completely out of your hands, and its like they simply can't comprehend why endless waiting around may be frustrating.
We have been waiting since July (at least) to know the plan, and have been delaying and delaying a holiday which we both desperately need. Only to find out that while I'm waiting every day for a call, it's sitting at the bottom of someone to-do list.
Phone one (or both) of the secretary's & ask for the name & address of who to put a written compliant in to. It might make something happen without doing anything & if not, then a letter might make them sit up & take notice!0 -

Exactly. We're in this state of constant waiting - for appts, for ovulation, for AF, for flaming receptionists to ever call back.... however hard we try to have some semblance of a 'normal' life TTC becomes all-consuming. When it becomes clear that what we're waiting for just isn't a priority for everyone else it can be overwhelming.
Still.... bake off tonight.

T2D I agree with skint cat, that is terrible. Sometimes you have to be a cow to get people to do stuff (have learnt this from work!)0

Thanks Lisa. I totally agree that you need to be happy with the clinic, and I'm just not happy with Walsgrave. The parking alone is enough to put anyone off! I've not been fully comfortable with them since the cancelled cycle and various other issues (eg. telling me I didn't have OHSS when I was so ill I thought I was dying, then sending me a letter a few weeks later saying that actually I did). I just don't feel confident that our best chance of success lies with them.
The next nearest to us is CARE in Northampton. But that's nearly an hour away (especially at the times of day we'd probably be going over there). Does anyone have any experience of going there? Or other CARE clinics?
Have just sent them an email asking for some basic information so I'll see what they come back with.
Tea I don't have Exp of the clinic itself but my NHS FS works privately for care Northampton and I honestly cannot recommend him enough. He's amazing & really knows his stuff. He's not dismissive, he's got a lovely kind nature about him & I won't see anyone else (still see him now as he's FErtility & obs)
Pm me if you want more details or his name xFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

treatment jam? That sounds much more fun that what I get!
ooo - it's bake off tonight? Brilliant! That almost makes up for annoying receptionists. I have to make a whole bunch of cakes for a Macmillan tea on Thursday, so maybe I'll do some while I watch it.0
