Sorry, sneaking back in again (can't leave you guys alone! :p) just to add comment to the "taboo subject" of ttc. I agree too. I was fairly open (progressively) during ttc, especially once we got the pcos diagnosis, and then once again to another level once my tubes were found blocked, surgery, endo diagnosed etc.

I've also (tried my best at least) made it a point to not flaunt my pregnancy with people/on fb etc. - but when it does come up to make it known that he/she was a long time coming. Not all the gory details with everyone, obviously, but this journey is/has/will be a massive part of who we are as people and as parents - and there's not a day I'm not grateful and stunned it's even happening for us now. I don't want anyone to feel like we got this easily, or that we take it for granted, etc either.

Sorry that might've turned rambly :o My point was, I agree ;)

    Good luck PM

    Good morning :)
Just a quick question if anyone has any idea please. I am back at hospital on Friday for them to test, but what is going through my head now is "how many?" Will they offer an early scan to see as 2 were put back, so twins is a possibility. As we are private I don't mind paying, but does anyone know how early we can find out? Thanks :) I'm off to carry on doing the follie dance for PM and Mrsdavo :) x

I have been fairly open about needing help, I hate how anything to do with infertility is such a taboo subject. I probably will be quite honest about it when people find out we are expecting as it will be quite a shock to most people-even my gran laughed and asked if I was joking when I told her-but in a totally non offensive way, she was just surprised-then delighted :)

MrsHappy others who have had treatment had a scan at 6.5 weekish to confirm the pregnancy- i think it's something they offer as a matter of course as it's how they report their figures - they have to report 'clinical pregnancies' which is a viable interutero embryo with a heartbeat seen after 6 weeks and i think Claire said after that scan you're then 'discharged' from the clinic into midwife care x

mrshappy - I had two put back. When I got my BFP on OTD we were given a 7wk scan appointment. That was standard regardless of how many were put back (NHS). So I would imagine it's clear by then. But I've heard of people being able to see the h/b at anything over 6 weeks, so they may offer one before.

Still doing the egg dance.... my legs are aching!

Grrr!!! Hospital have just called to say we've been given the wrong appt so not to go this morning. Have only just forgiven them for making me have three weeks of buserelin I didn't need because they didn't read my notes, and now this.

Am really losing any faith in them, and as we're paying this time I'm thinking we should start looking elsewhere.

Anyone got any recommendations for the Coventry area??

ETA: they've just called back to say there's only one person in the whole place who deals with egg sharing and she's not in until Thursday. They can't give me any idea of her availability so I haven't a clue when I might be able to get an appt. How stupid is that?? So she's the only person who can make appts or see her diary... why do they even bother having receptionists then?! Am sooo cross. They couldn't even say whether I'd be able to get started before the age-limit cut off.
  • Thanks for article MrsHappy, I swapped to chamomile tea straight after ICSI as I heard if affected folic acid uptake.

Love the dances, hope they work for you PartMouse, good luck!

    Grr to hospital Tea x
