On both occasions I was made to feel that that was a really good achievement and even though only one fertilised I was never made to feel that I'd 'under-performed'. The fact is none of us can help how we respond, it's not something we can just 'try a bit harder at'. If we could actually affect these things, don't you think we'd all have a billion kids by now?? Honestly, I'm so cross on your behalf that I'm typing really aggressively! I'm hammering the keys!
And the average rate of fertilisation is 50% so to get 5 out of 7 is absolutely fantastic. Ooh, I'm fuming!
Thanks, Fluff Nutter! You made me LOL with your @rse comment. It's true though he was
. It is annoying when you think that you responded well (I didn't think that I did too badly on treatment) & was just expecting a "well we don't know what went wrong but it doesn't always work first time, hopefully second time lucky!" And end up feeling that he had p!ssed on my parade.
Sorry, I haven't caught up with everyone's stories yet but when a PP mentioned you she said about egg donation. Have you had your ED IVF yet?52 Week Challenge £15/£13780 -
Patient info eve went well. It was really good - we had talks from doctor, nurse, counsellor and a sister. Lots of paperwork to go through tonight! I made lots of notes so anything useful I'll post up later today x0

Yep. The result is now 14 months old. Thinking about round 2"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Fluffernutter-I always think if you when I get worried about IVF not working and the positive things you have said about egg donation...I have a little bit of hero worship for you!
Me too! In my mind fluff is the Alex Polizzi of infertility... strutting around in killer heels, shouting at @rsey consultants and generally chivvying us all along in a Fixer-type way.
Might have over-shared about the state of my mind there.

Mrshappy and vsevior - sending good 2ww vibes to you both!
tea - I wish I lived in your head! Comedy genius.
Welcome to the newbies - I look after a little list of where people are at - so if you want to do a 2 or 3 line summary of where you I will add you. I think the latest version of the list is about 3 or 4 pages ago.
On an unrelated note - does anyone watch breaking bad? I'm mentally scarred by last nights episode (downloaded) and can't focus!0 -

Thanks Time2Deal
I had a look, some people have been trying for a long time too. Our summary is below:
About us: TTC#1 since 2006 (well NTNP for the first year). DH 38 Me 38. Unexplained infertility. All tests normal (strange how you hope that they find something wrong that they can "fix"). Failed IVF 1st cycle August 2013. Booked in for 2nd cycle Feb 2014.
Wishing everyone luck that are going through a cycle or in the 2WW :grouphug:52 Week Challenge £15/£13780 -
Hi all, please can I join you? I think I'm better off here than the TTC thread as it's now 12 months for me.
Background - for the last 5 months my reasonably regular 28/30 say cycles have been getting longer & longer culminating in my last one being 80 days. I'm currently on CD31 & haven't detected ov yet (opk's). Dr tested FSH, LH, Progesterone & Thyroid on CD21 of this cycle (my best guess for progesterone seeing as I can't detect ov/know when my period is coming!
Been to Dr to discuss above 'normal' results & am facing a barrage of more blood tests & a scan to find out why I'm not concieving/having long cycles & why I'm so bloody tired all the time including std's, diabetes, anaemia, pcos & I forget what elseAlso been confirmed that I won't be eligble for fertility assistance as I already have DD. I can completely understand that but it still makes me sad (please don't hate me for wanting #2)
Got to wait until cd3 for these bloods - that could be another 2 months away given the length of my last cycle!0
