MrsDavo - thanks for that - you've answered one question already! I did wonder if I'd even be eleigble to try Clomid, but hopefully they'll let me (if it gets to that point!) though I think I have to get my BMI below 30 asap first :o

DD is just about to turn 2 (which makes me sad the age gap is just getting bigger 7 bigger as I always wanted 2 fairly close together :( )

    Hi again :)

The age gap thing bothers me too, as my DD is 6 and a half and I always wanted children close. Unfortunately DD isn't OH's so we don't have one together.
Yeah my BMI is 30, and they said any higher and I couldn't have had Clomid. They gave me 6 months worth and I have a review on 8th January. If this doesn't work for us then I assume the response sill be at that point that IVF will be our only option but we would have to self fund.
  • Mrs davo i have tried both clomid and tamoxafin only ov once on clomid but reactaed badly to it, got a 5 cm cyst. Had 4 goes at tamoxafin up to the max dose and no eggs. So far day 23 of injections and still no eggs, if still no follies will have 3rd increase tommrow. If i dont get pg from injdctions need icsi which is worry as im not producing eggs on the ivf drugs anyway.i know i dont ov at all naturally and only have 1 working tube.

Don't forget Part Mouse, that the drug regime for producing eggs for Ivf is much more aggressive because they're not so worried about producing a multiples pregnancy - they collect the eggs in those circumstances, so it doesn't matter if you produce 1 or 21. They have to go softly-softly with you right now because they can't risk over stimulating you for a LOT of eggs and then you having an incredibly risky pregnancy due to multiples.

So even though you're using an Ivf drug now, doesn't mean that the regime they'd put you on, or your reaction to it, would be anything like what you're experiencing now if you were to do actual Ivf.

I actually think given your particular issues (from an outsider's point of view) ICSI might be less stressful and kinder on you! :o:) Especially as even if you do ovulate atm, you're still currently worried (from memory) about male factor fertility by attempting the natural conception, which would be taken care of, for the most part, in an Ivf cycle.

I'm actually surprised how many options/regimes etc they're giving you before they jump to Ivf tbh. If I were you though, I think I would be reconsidering the ovarian drilling op around this point - I can see how you must be so frustrated and down-hearted. :(

Tealover, you made me laugh too ;)

Mrshappy, thanks I'm fine :) reached Viability day yesterday, which had me breathing a sigh of relief - while still not believing I'm not still on this thread full time with you guys :o Still got everything crossed for you! :D

Really! When? We are currently waiting for visa approval and will be on the plane in less than a year hopefully.

(Well - sort of hopefully - it's Australia or pregnancy. But at least if the pregnancy doesn't work we will be off soon enough.)

    Why are you moving?

Er.... why is everyone moving to Australia?! Is it to get away from me?? You know they have the internet there too right? There's no escape.

    I may be a bit over-sensitive today.:o

    You can come too TL!

Although I warn you that the visa process is beyond tedious... and of course DH has nothing to do with it at all - leaving all the paeperwork to me. Even though the visa is for him (I am an Australian citizen).

I could always leave him behind. ;)

BZ I really appreaciate your wise words :)

I was worried about the injections as we have male factor probs plus only one tube but thought as we 'only' get 1 fresh & 1 frozen icsi I thought having more options would be good. I asked if it was possible to refered for icsi in the meantime but was told no.

After having my second hsg I talked through my options with the Dr and she thought that as I have extensieve internal damage the risks were to high for surgery :( I have an awful feeling that tommorow I won't have responded again. I know the protocall is different if you are using natural conception vs icsi but am very worried that im not responding to ovarian stimulation.God I hate this whole journey.
  • Thank you ladies!!!
