Good luck mrshappy & vsevoiur! Fingers and toes crossed for you both. xx
Off to go and see the test !!!!!! from a couple of days ago on the other thread... desperately want it to be someone from here... Lol.0 -
Loads and loads of activity on here!!!
Wow, place is really hotting up.
I don't post as often as I should, but I read most days.
My hubby still smokes occasionally if I don't keep an eye on him, only when he's out though, I gave up smoking a long while back and stopped all alcohol almost 2 years ago now also, I sound smug but its only cos I got horrible hangovers :-)
We have news also!
We are having a logistics meeting tonight with the couple who are going to surrogate for us in the New Year, got to work all the details out (the couple are good friends) but hoping for IVF for me Jan/Feb and a frozen transfer for her a couple of months following that, as she is currently carrying one of their own.
Sounds a bit complicated I know but will have a clearer idea of the plan later. I think it's the only way ahead for us now, after so many implantation failures I'm ready to accept that i'm never going to carry my own, and this is the next best thing!!
Very nervous2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Hello everyone... I was wondering if you'd mind if I joined?
Hubby and I have been trying for our first baby since September 2010 and have just hit the three year mark.I suffer with PCOS and what we believe to be Factor V Leiden (just getting it confirmed). We have had three miscarriages (4 babies lost total), and the last one was due to a subchorionic hematoma, which we think could be linked to poor implantation due to the factor v. After getting my BMI below 30 our consultant has started us on clomid again and I'm now just waiting for my next AF to start. Alongside that, I'm on metformin (1000mg), baby aspirin (to help with clotting, hopefully prevent a SCH again), vit b complex, vit d & folic acid.
If it gets confirmed for the factor v leiden I believe they will be putting me on daily heparin injections once a pregnancy is confirmed so we are very nervous! My father has FVL and has already had a PE & DVT.
Hope to get to know you all.0 -
Lisawood78 - soooo excited for you!! You sound so happy, focussed and full of hope, which is so lovely to see. I'll be saying a prayer or two for you.
Welcome whigfield
AFM.. I've just changed jobs, gone back to work full time, so we've paused the adoption process for a month or two. Any decisions made now wouldn't be right, so it's on hold. If I'm honest, at the moment I'm thinking its not for me.. DH is still really excited about it though, so we'll see. The time we spend thinking about it now will not be wasted time. It'll help make sure it's the right thing for all of us.When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
Hi whigfield.
Onestep- I hope you come to a decision that you're both happy with. We've been talking again quite abstractly about adoption for the past week or so and there's so much to consider.0 -
Ooh embies on board - am so excited for you people!!
FS next tuesday and I'm getting VERY impatient now. I just want to know whether we're properly eligible for egg-sharing or not, and when we can get started on another cycle. I'm also absolutely terrified at the thought of doing this again. Not so much the physical side (not great, but do-able). More the mental/emotional side.
Spoke to OH yesterday about what we'd do if we're not eligible for the sharing cycle and we've agreed that we'll probably just do another cycle anyway. Hey, what is money for if not splashing out on internal scans??
sexki11en - thank you so much for your thoughts on the embryoscope. I've definitely heard good things about the technnology. It's offered at our clinic so for the £360 extra we're hoping to use it. Oh seemed quite taken with the idea of a time-lapse film lol. Best of luck for everything, when's your scan?0 -
Hi all, I've been on holiday so only just caught up with you guys (you know I have to keep an eye on you
) and excited to see so much news!
Good luck to the embryos on board ladies, mrshappy & v (and anyone else whose names escape me)
Part mouse, have they indicated what their next approach would be if this menopur want the answer for you? Maybe having a back up plan in mind would help you stay more positive?
Lisa, how mental and exciting about your friends offering to be surrogates! I really hope this all works out for you guys x
Tealover, glad you and dh have come to some understanding/agreement and hope the appointment is helpful and informative and the start of good things for you
Onestep, I think you're wise to take your time over such a massive decision and like others have said, I hope you both find yourselves on the same page and positive for the future
Littleme, hope the non medicated cycle does the job for you. We got pg on the 2nd non-medicated cycle after a run of clomid and I still can't believe it, even though s/he's almost 24wks and wriggling and kicking almost constantly!
Vesper, hope things get started for you now and that nurse was wrong.
T2d and teacake, in my thoughts as ever
I know I'll have missed someone out, and I'm sorry, I just have a shocking memory!:o
Off to see what test p0rn I've missed now"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hi ladies.
Wow, embryos on board, that is exciting, here's to a short. 2ww!!
Our meeting ( well takeaway and sit round the Dining table ) with our hopeful surrogates went very well, I felt sick with nerves beforehand as did our surrogate but we both said what we hoped for and they. Asked questions and stuff that we hadn't thought about also which was good. We left with the agreement that we will now go ahead with our initial consultation with our usual clinic which is now booked for 3 weeks time on Our wedding anniversary!!
Eeeek!!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Lisa Wishing you well, very exciting times for you.
Whigfield welcome to you.

FS has said if the menopur doesnt work then icsi then its the end of the road for us which tbh has made me worry more as we only have one more option left after these injections. So much pressure for these to work and feel so awful on them aswell.0 -

Everyone's different of course, but I found it got a lot easier. The first time was by far the worst. By my third attempt I felt I could cope far better with both the hormonal aspects and the harrowing heartbreak when it failed. And on the fourth go... happy days. I was worried each time would be worse that the last, but found the opposite."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
