Walnut Cake
Skip the frosting, although it is AMAZING, but only do it for a special occasions as it's quite fiddly. Double the walnuts, and make small cakes, I use the small round tin that you would normally use to make a double height cake, and leave it lying around. Its so delicious and moist no-one can resist it!0 -
It certainly was quick! We had to hold off a month or we'd have been starting just before christmas. Things seemed to get slower once we'd started if anything, as they messed up our first attempt and I had 3 weeks on the wrong drugs before they noticed. Doesn't fill you with confidence does it?!0

Exactly! If I'm going to get lumbered with all the cooking then I get to decide what goes in it lol
Am struggling with it a bit though. Yesterday was ok as I was making breadcrumbs for chicken so could lob some extras in that, but how do I get the good stuff in other meals? Am definitely no masterchef.... cooking really stresses me out.0 -
Hi all, apologies for not posting for a while - I've got a wonderful update!
I've had a few minor surgeries and a change in medication, which we found out has been inhibiting my fertility, but thankfully it is reversible. We are now in the process of not going through IVF (phew!) but TTC naturally in the new year - I still have traces of the medication in my system, and a little sore still from being prodded and poked!
Thank you all for the support you have given, you have got us through some tough times - even when we felt like giving up - and I hope to be on that graduation list very soon!
I'm welling up now, thank you all again.
Much love x0 -

If you can ground up the walnuts then you could put them in any savory dishes (spag bol, stews, curries, sheperds pie); he's unlikely to notice the taste amongst all the other flavours. The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. Hello all, I'm amused you are all as sneaky as me at sticking things in OHs food, I feel like a Victorian poisoner heh heh (but less arsenic and more banana and nut focused).
We have "unexplained infertility" here too I wish I knew what was going wrong in there... So frustrating and heartbreaking. There are so many places it could be going wrong, or we could just be unlucky, I wish I knew which. I've basically just been told to go away and keep trying, I suppose until the 2 year point is up or I run out of Clomid.0 -
Hi Dom,
Good news! And welcome back to the madhouse. Do you want me to add you to the list of people here? I think it's at the top of page 574, so you can have a look at what info people provide.
AFM - I have some good news too, although possibly heading into TMI territory! I'm about 5DPO on a very short cycle and had EWCM today. Now, I know that isn't exciting to most people, but since I have no 'C' I had been told I wouldn't ever get EWCM again.
So I was pleased! Maybe the glands that produce it are re-creating, or the small amount of cervix that was left is taking over the job. Anyway, a good sign of something.
and of course I'm not at all googling if EWCM in the 2ww means anything. Definitely not...0
