Thanks for doing this T2D.
TTC no. 1 since 08/10, 34, DH 37. Severe endo. 1 MC 06/12. Next step: IVF.
And I got a letter from the IVF centre on Friday. I had to fill in a number of forms so they could access if we are eligible for NHS funded treatment. The forms have been filled in. I was taking them to a post box when I saw the postwoman and she said she will post them. I really hope she does not forget and sends them soon.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 20360 -
Peonie - you remind me that I have to check out what I need for NHS IVF. I'm booked for 2 October for first appointment, so I just need to make sure I have what I need by then.
I'm doing IVF privately as well, and working towards NHS IVF in October if private doesn't work. Is that weird, or even allowed? Has anyone gone private first then NHS second.
(I'm doing it that way as I needed to do 'emergency' IVF in Jan when diagnosed with cancer, so went with a private clinic. And now as I'm having problems I'm going with them again - but in truth we will struggle to afford a third private cycle. Plus I've finally pulled my finger out and am losing the 5kg I need to to get under the BMI limit.)0 -
Good idea T2D. Can I be added please?
TTC #1 since 04/2011. Me (29). BMI 31. Unicornuate Uterus, PCOS, Mild Endo. Irregular cycles. Elevated Prolactin. DH (30) Poor SA results (count, motility and morphology). Next Step: Brain MRI to check for benign tumour, Obstetrics appointment to check I'm physically able to carry a pregnancy, 2 cycles of NHS IVF with ICSI approved when results are in and BMI at target.0 -
Is there a BMI limit? We checked ours when we put the figures into the hospital forms. For years I've been above 25 but now have it down to 24 so I'm hoping they'll be fine with that.
I've had AF pain symptoms since Thursday and finally started light spotting todayPots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

They usually won't give you NHS IVF unless your BMI is between 19- 29. Some trusts differ though...0

Yes, its 30 in my trust. I'm hoping being 30 is ok! Although I do plan to get as low as possible. 24 will be more than fine. My doctor has referred me on trust though - sometimes they won't even refer you to start the waiting period until you are low enough.
My doctors pity me these days. So I am learning I can get them to agree to most things if I ask nicely!0 -
Just thought- didn't mention it but at my last meeting with the FS in June I asked her what all of my test results were including AMH.
She told me it was what they consider normal (finally- one sodding normal thing!) but they disregard it now and I was one of the last patients to have it as a blood test in their hospital (Hewitt Centre Liverpool) as they found that it didn't really have any bearing on IVF. They used to use it to determine drug doses for IVF stims (low AMH= higher doses) but found that they were over stimulating women with low AMH levels. She said the link between low AMH/ ovulation/ egg quality is tenuous...
Just thought I'd post that info in case anyone worries about AMH. Though what one FS says another seems to think is bonkers!0 -
Thats really interesting TCD. I have v low AMH (2.0) and was told that meant I would likely be a poor responder. But I was pretty normal to good on my ICSI cycle, and since then my FSH has also come back really low - which indicates I'm still a long way from menopause.
My Mum for some reason has come across the AMH test and tells me I should do it again. But I don't think it tells me anything, other than to start worrying more. And I can't change or control it - so I'm not testing again.0 -
p.s. I've just done my BMI and it's actually 30.4, which is better than I thought. I few KG's and I will be heading comfortably into 'overweight'. Who knew I would look forward to that classification so much!0
