Massive good luck hugs vseviour. I think it's always a bit easier when you're actually doing something, even if it's not something you particularly want to be doing, iyswim.

    Hi everyone,

Glad to hear things are moving forward for most of us, I am struggling to remember every-ones names in my replies - so really sorry I can't reply en mass - seems to mess with my head trying to reply to every-ones stories.

I am on CD 7 today, and finished my first course of Clomid last night. I haven't really felt bad on them at all - just a few headaches really which is good.

I have the day 21 blood test booked for 8th of August and it is my Birthday exactly a week later - I don't know whether I am pleased about that or not. If it hasn't worked it's going to be a really sh*t birthday present.

All I hope for is that I will ovulate - guess I can't wish for more than that. We are on 2 years 8 months trying now......

I seem to have managed ( just through avoiding certain situations ) to alienate half of OH's family ( the only family I have ) They are ignoring me when they see me, even in social situations, and we aren't invited to his brothers birthday party. All because I avoided one thing, because my period started and I just couldn't face being around pregnant people.

    It's making me feel worse...

On other news this royal baby stuff has been difficult. I am happy for them that nothing went wrong, but it's felt a bit too much. Especially now they've named him George - that was our name for a boy, we'd already picked names before we lost our baby in April 2012.

    Life sucks.xx

Hi MrsDavo - I'm on CD11 and this is my first month on Clomid too. :)

I haven't been around on the thread for a while. We started trying in July 2011. We were referred for investigations last Autumn and after many a long wait between appointments and all the initial testing, were told we had no problems. So we're "unexplained" infertility and Clomid is the first thing to try. I was actually prescribed it in April but I started a new job in Feb and didn't want to be one of those people who gets knocked up immediately, so we've waited a few months before starting it. I still feel bad about work (if the Clomid works!) but I'm 32 and we can't really put it off any longer.

So anyway, took Clomid on days 2-6 this month and I don't think I had any side effects. I was pretty grumpy, but I was sleeping really badly in the hot weather. Next month will tell us if the grumpiness was the Clomid or the sleep deprivation!

Had a scan on Monday (CD7) to check everything was clear after last month and the cycle was ready to start. Had another scan this morning (CD11) to see if there were any signs of life (and check I wasn't hyper-stimulated). They think I ovulated yesterday! They're not quite sure, as apparently there was fluid in my womb which suggests I have, but my follicle wasn't as big as they'd expect. They said to get on with trying, but they're having me back for another follicular scan on Tuesday to check. If the follicle has decreased in size then I have already ovulated, if it's grown then I haven't yet.

My cycle is slightly short (24 days) so ovulation around day 10 would be about right for me.

I do find all this takes the romance out of it somewhat. "Egg's waiting there dear - fertilise me"! Still, it's nice having had all the tests and knowing that in theory it should work!

    Hi Pinkteapot.

Really good to hear your story and that you are in a similar position we are, although we've been told I have PCOS - so do have some sort of explanation.

I took it day 2-6 this month too, it would be really interesting to see how you get on! I hope it works :-)

I'm not being scanned - just the blood test. Hate having no control over these things. My cycles can be 23-60 days over the last 12 months so very unpredictable.

Good luck Hun and do come back and tell me how your doing.

Did they give you 6 months worth? X

Hi Pinkpot and Mrs Davo - I am on my second clomid cycle - days 2-6. I am currently CD14 so am convinced I am due to ov very soon. Just waiting until I get home to use my opk.

Also using the SMEP too as per doctor/FS advice.

    good luck x

Good luck to all of you clomid ladies - here's to a clomid boom!

Am getting really irritated by a story on the news about some fraud case. The news on radio 2 keep saying that he took the money to spend "on his wife's IVF". Grr!!! Because of course it's only us useless little ladies that need IVF, it couldn't possibly be a two-person process could it?!?

I realise that is b*gger all to do with the actual story, but the way they're wording it is pee'ing me!

Different NHS areas must do different things.... In ours, we're scanned repeatedly during the first month to check that the dosage is high enough and we ovulate, and also that it doesn't hyper-stimulate us so we release loads of eggs! Although it might just be that if you have PCOS there's no risk of that? I was told it was a slight risk, and if it happened then we'd be told not to try that month as I could end up giving birth to a litter. They worded it differently. :D

I don't have to have any bloods this month (yay!). In the second and third months there's no scanning but I have to have the blood test around day 20.

I've only been prescribed three months worth then we have to see the consultant again. They said something about six months before though, so I think it would then be another three months of Clomid at that point if it hasn't worked yet. Beyond that, IUI or onto the IVF waiting list.

Fingers crossed for you too hon! Imagine if we both got our beans. :D One of our friends had a Clomid baby so I've known it to work. :T

Did you take 50mg a day? That was my dose and, as I said, I don't think I had side effects. The scanning nurse this morning said she had to take 100mg a day and had shocking mood swings - her poor hubby had to steer well clear during those days!

Oops, hello littleme82! Sorry, I missed your post on first read-through. :) Fingers crossed for three Clomid beans then! (and beans all round for everyone on this thread)

    What is SMEP?

    Hi Pinkteapot,

Apparently having PCOS Can mean that you get OHSS so I guess they will need to keep an eye on that but they didn't mention scanning. Just the blood test. She did say that if this month shows No ovulation then they will up the dosage for month 2.

I did take just the 50mg this month - I'm moody when I have my period anyway so OH knows to steer clear haha. Even so much as him not saying please or something silly can tip me over!

The consultant did say that she wanted my progesterone level to be above 50nmol to show that I ovulated because it has been 3nmol on every other test they've done.

I was given 6 months and told to go back in January for a review, but they said they would up the dosage until it showed ovulation.

It would be brilliant if we all had little clomid babies growing my Christmas - that would be wonderful.
We aren't entitled to IVF on the NHS because I already have a child who is 6 and a half now - conceived on the pill believe it or not!! She is my miracle. Does make it seem even more unfair though that we are struggling now, and can't get any help if clomid doesn't work!

    Little miss - Hi :-)

    Good luck with the OPK!

Are you still on 50mg this month? Did you ovulate the first month and did clomid affect the length of your cycle? Sorry for all the questions lol.

I feel like I've waited 9 months for clomid and now I have it I'm worried about it not working!
