    Don't talk rot.

Calling someone a name like "div" is insulting. If it wasn't, I'd be calling you one. Calling someone any kind of name that ridicules them is insulting.

No wonder this country is going down the bleeding pan.

Oh come on - I can think of worse to be called :rotfl:

Someone once told me - 'offence cannot be given, it can only be taken', and you must have a very thin skin if you take being called a div offensive.

You don't think that calling someone stupid is offensive to them?

Learning how to behave and how to treat others is very important. Calling people names is an ignorant way to behave. As the phrase goes, "Stupid is as stupid does" - of course you won't be taking offence at that though

No I won't, because I have a sense of humour. Calling someone a 'div' because they messed up wiring a plug is hardly the most disrespectful thing someone can do.

Anyway, back to the OP... I did ask if your husband could contract the work out but it got lost in the silly arguing aong the way - is this a possibility?

It doesn't make it right though does it

Oh for goodness sake, you obviously got the 'right and wrong parenting handbook' that no one else got when they gave birth, well done. Agree to disagree yes?

    Your logic is unsound.
    Your tone is patronising.
And you are not making any sense whatsoever.

I have no idea if you are normally like this, but of course I'm going to disagree with you!

I'm not going to get into the name calling issue, but have to say I find it odd the OP wants to print off only the replies which agree with her POV and show them to her OH.

What is wrong with showing him every response that relates to the holiday so the two of you can make an informed choice?

But anyway, if it is time alone you are in need of, then why not take a two week break in the UK, or somewhere cheaper?

That way you get the best of both worlds - time to yourselves, and your kitchen.

I'm not sure I'd call a week with family 'couple time'.... Or is it that you need time away from your son more than time as a couple?

    Just my thoughts!

You're a long time dead...go for it! Life is for living!
You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
    You just keep on walking
