Would you go on holiday?

Anyway back on topic (I wasn't trying to win parent of the year award anyway). Hubby works 7 days a week and sometimes does call out. He has good customers that are loyal and good at paying on time and they appreciate that it costs them less to use him than a full time employee.
My mum and step dad live in America and they and their friends are going on a fishing trip to Canada the first week. We was going to join them there and then go on a bit of a road trip and meet them back at their farm for the second week. Hubby and I have not been on holiday on our own for 17 years. What I need is a crystal ball to see into the future so that we don't regret spending all that money. I agree with some of you though that life is for living. We should do it whilst we are still young enough. Hubby is just as undecided but I am starting to sway towards going on the holiday.0 -

If you think it's worth it then customers will understand or go elsewhere. Only something your hubby can decide.

Nobody can give you a crystal ball, you got to make up your mind for yourself.I agree with some of you though that life is for living. We should do it whilst we are still young enough. People on a forum don't know you and can't make the decision for you. If you decide to go have a great time!0 -

Thanks Walter
Now I need to hypnotise my husband into thinking going on holiday is the best idea he has ever had. "Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, into the eyes" ping "Welcome to Air India flight 129 non-stop to Chicago etc etc etc". Actually, he will kill my if we fly with them again. I hope we do go, I am looking forward to it. I am going to print those replies that say we should go and use them as evidence:D0 -
Have you been before? will it be a trip of a lifetime/new experience? How long are you going for? I would say go and enjoy it. there are no pockets in shrouds. I'd also say that if your going for two weeks, make it longer, try 3 or more weeks.0

You say your husband will lose money - can he not contract someone in to do the work for him? That way he gets a little money in and the jobs done?

Psst
We have been to America many times because my Mum is out there. And I went to Canada without Hubby years ago. I want him to experience Canada and us being on our own for once, bit of privacy iynwim.
Kitchen: everything is in good working order, it just needs updating ( I think we are rushing things a bit, done loads of DIY since end of May, its getting boring watching paint dry).0
