Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

El, thats great to read about you stopping doing freebies - the mates rates rate is still really good! Real mates *want* to pay you.

I think its really important for us to think about why we got to where we are. For me, it sounds very odd - I've been playing too safe ... there are a few other factors too, but the too-safe business has been a big lesson for me. Positive risks that I've analysed and taken care over are what have taken me forward till now, and somehow I stopped doing that. So I have to start again!

there is alot of truth in what you say kc ...when we do play things too safe or dont want to push things and dont fully give ourselves proper worth we do tend to allow others to treat us the same ...i know when i was doing treatments for free i was doing it to help people out ...i am now learning that this has often been taken as a sign of weakness or lack of belief in ability to perform the required treatment ...so in a way i was bringing on myself even though i was trying to be generous ...which is something i do ...it's amazing how experiancing these things you have to self reflect

Well done on the debtbusting. I know what you mean about focussing on the debt. I seem to spend much less if Im concentrating on getting the debt gone. Hopefully nothing will come along to veer me of course.:T

this board is a great place to keep us all on track ...i know i just feel very focussed just now ...and i know this time it will last it just starts to bring up questions of so ...if it is to last what are you going to do to ensure it does ...which is a whole subject matter in itself lol

Sorry,Elantan..didn't mean to take up your headspace...lol...but if it's for the better then I don't feel as guilty.
I know what it's like having loads swimming around in your head but once I make the deciscion I stick with it.

i am a bit like that also until someone throws the spanner in :rotfl::rotfl: ...but i think i will continue with the way i am doing it ...but when it has been completed i will look at the wider situation and deal with both the mortgage and car saving etc then

I agree we have to deal with our debt in a way that suits us..it's not a one size fits all.

well it's been a bit of an interesting day today ...i went to my business partners house we did another session on the situation of seeing the wider picture etc ...not long after that i recieved a phone call from hubbys bro/friend who wanted to phone me up to say thanks very much for the session i did for him he continued with i slept better than i have for months i feel better than i have for months so we have one happy customer ...then i had the garage on the phone today ...the manager phoned me he wants me to take the car back in so that they can strip it down and have a look at what the situation is ...the mechanic is adamant that they have done the work but the guy we saw on friday and another mechanic are both determined he hasnt ...in the mean time i am being inconvenianced ...i let him know this so they are giving us a hire car for the day ...but i am sitting wondering what is to stop them from putting a new one in and saying yes the mechanic did do it right ...and in the mean time i am messed about again ...oh the joys of motoring ...

i went to the bank i did not stop i did not collect £200 (i wish) and didnt need a get out of jail free card ...the £20 has been paid in the square has been coloured in a very bright yellow ...and my addiction to colouring in has been fed for a wee while...

i have almost decided i am going to continue on the way i am and will tackle the mortgage etc when i am finished this leg of the debt

Well done on the mates rates thing - sometimes for others to respect you you have to have more respect for yourself - as you've just found

Hope you get the car sorted soon.

Have you found the library yet - I got about 10 books out on my favourite author the other day - was really chuffed - normally I would buy books at the rate of about a fiver a week - so using the library is saving me about £20 a month at the mo!
