hi lovely ladies, have just about managed to catch up on the last couple of days' chat :rotfl:

wanted to wish Courgette luck for the weekend, I'm sure you'll have an amazing day. mine was 8 years ago but I have lots of our wedding photos dotted around the house as constant reminders of our amazing day, looking at them always makes me smile and realise that despite the turmoil of late I really am a very lucky lady :happyhear

also big hugs to the newbies (although I am sort of one too) so sorry to hear of your mc's, I'm afraid I too know what you're going through and really there is no 'normal' way to come through it, either physically or mentally. Our bodies are so different so naturally, something as major as a mc will affect us all in different ways. Just know that there's lots of support here and just do whatever feels right for you - that is the most 'normal' (i hate that word) thing.

CD2 for me, second AF since my last mc and seem to be back to my 27/28 day cycles. off to the doc's after work today for a last ditch attempt to see if my GP's will do any tests for me before I fork out a fortune (which I can't really afford) next Tuesday to have the tests done privately. This will be the third doctor at my GP surgery I'm seeing, third time lucky?
Sadly my local health authority don't seem to be that interested in the fact that I've had two mc's this year even though I'm rhesus negative which I now know can be a cause. I am a constant worrier and during the last pg I was stressing at the slightest thing (which unfortunately turned out to be a mc) so I cannot bear the thought of getting pg again without ruling out some of the more common causes of mc. wish me luck

big big hugs to everyone and sticky baby/bean dust all round

I know how you feel Rik, I was told that they wouldn't do any tests until the third mc, as two is very common, and three is very uncommon. I now have it in my head that I may have this sticky blood thing, I forget the proper name for it at the moment, anyway I spoke to my boss about it, she was an immunologist befor she joined our team. I have an existing auto-immune disorder and wondered if you can have a predisposition to other ai's she said you can, and has told me the tests I need to ask for. Unfortunately the first test has to be after something major (that may be related to the disorder i.e. an mc) then the second blood test needs to be done 12 weeks later to confirm
  • Hi rik, hi Catw0man - I mentioned the "sticky blood thing" to my mum, who went and read up on it. Apparently, as well as auto-immune disorders, it is linked to migraines, which I suffer quite badly from, so I'm thinking that may be a possibility for me too. (Or I may be clutching at straws...) Like you, I was told I had to wait until I'd had three before they'd do any tests, even though in some places they test after two if you're over 35. But the other thing my mum mentioned was that some people self-treat with baby aspirin (is that the same as junior disprin?!), as that's what doctors prescribe (the other alternative is warfarin... eek) **Please note this is not medical advice, just a comment! ** I'm allergic to aspirin myself, so not something I'd consider right now.
  • Still nothing to report here. CD37 here based on first bad day of mc, perhaps 19DPO going by EWCM although I'm not very expert at all this so could be way out. And no symptoms of anything, AF or otherwise, apart from being really really tired at the beginning of the week.

I wondered how safe it is to take asprin during pregnancy, I would assume it's the same as that given to people with heart conditions - low strength, I take it when going on long haul flights

My money is on Gettinghitched, Lildevil and Hayley, or are there others keeping any secrets? x ;)

Thank you, although I think it's more wishful thinking on my part - keep getting niggly twinges which may or may not be good news. Not due (assuming I go back to the usual 28/29 days) next Tues/Weds so far too early to test!

    Hi Girls,

I have been lurking for a long time and was waiting until next week to tell you my news. I left you in August due to my cycles being so long and me getting really stressed, I was going in to 50 day cycles, so we decided to have a month off.

Well in August I feel pregnant, we didn't even BD that much! And I didn't know I was pregnant until the end of September. Next week we are going for our scan and prying that it is good news I was going to tell you all.

Anyway I jumped in now because I was ill a few weeks ago and was told that you should not take asprin during pregnancy. Paracetamol was recommended.

Sorry to tell you my news like this but I just wanted to pass my findings on to Catw0man. I don't mean to upset anyone by my sudden announcement.

Sticky baby dust to all x

That's great news, hope you have a happy 8 months! :D
The asprin was for the sticky blood syndrome (as a cause of mc) not for pain, thanks for the advice though. I really need to get the doctors to see if I can get the tests done.
