Trying For a Baby III

Nope, no aching joints, and only the stiffness associated with a desk job and not enough exercise, so it probably won't be the explanation for me. But since it's one of the few things that can not only be tested for, but also relatively easily treated, it may well be worth me making a fuss sooner rather than later.0

hello lovely ladies, works been so hectic lately that I haven't had a chance to 'chat' have been trying to keep up with everybody's news tho'.
my_gorgeous_ellie I also wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and hope that everything goes well today
laura big big hugs to you. As for ttc after mc, I waited for my first AF after my mc at end of March/beginning April before ttc, didn't catch first month but got pg in cycle after that (June). Unfortunately that one didn't stick either and now getting some tests done privately before ttc again (I hope this side of xmas).
my GP has been S**t with me both times. after the first he was very dissmissive and said, 'don't worry its not going to happen again'.
after the second one I saw one of the female GPs who sat and stared at me whilst I balled my eyes out (she didn't even offer me a tissue) then in response to me asking whether I could have some basic blood tests done to see if there is a reason why this has happened her response was 'well what tests exactly do you want?' I don't know I'm not a flamin doctor!!! and then she said I'm sorry the NHS will not do anything for you until you have another mc (which I think is an awful thing to say to someone two weeks after their second mc), and then she sent me on my way - in tears!!
AND THEN, 5 days later I got a call from my midwife asking how my 12 week scan went and if I had heard anything about my blood test results!!!! no-one at the surgery had let her now I had had a mc at 11 weeks!!!
sorry for the rant, my dad has just called me and wound me up about this whole thing. he told me it was a good idea to get tests done privately so I could 'get happy and get on with my life'!!!!
I'm feeling quite sensitive at the moment and let him have it with both barrels.
confuzzled - fingers crossed for tomorrow
courgette - I hope you feel better soon, but in the meantime try and take advantage of some free 'me time' whilst you're off
and love and hugs to everybody else that I have missed
kisses xxxx0 -
aww rik1978 so sorry to hear your story. doctors can be so horrible sometimes. My doctor was really nice to me (for a change) when i went to tell them i was pregnant he said that if i was too have another mc he would then do test as he thinks having two mc's is bad enough then having to go through it a third time. So i'm seeing my doctor in just over a week to talk about what to do next.0

Rik, that's awful how you were treated. I think part of the problem with doctors and early mcs is they overlook in the 10 minutes they have with you what a massive emotional issue it is to have a mc. I remember a very similar conversation with my GP - I wanted him to arrange a pre-booked scan for a few days earlier so I could see whether I'd 'only' mc'ed one of my babies or both and he said he couldn't do anything to help. I had a week of god-awful morning sickness, every pg symptom under the sun to be told that both babies had indeed gone. B@stard man, he could have made it so much easier with just a phone call. Oh, I've upset myself now thinging about it all againUpdating soon...0

I had a week of brown spotting, about 3 days of proper bleeding then another few days of spotting.
I was about to ask some advice too.... those who had mc - did you have not nice stuff during 1st AF after??? I thought my AF was finally ending but *TMI* I've just had a lot of brown clotty stuff come out:o AF normally lasts 3 days and this has been nearly a weekBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Hi Lauralou and smartie- sounds like everyone's different, I'm afraid. More TMI alert.... I was hospitalised with my first, due to the blood loss, and once it had settled down, it trailed off over a period of about a fortnight going gradually from red to brown. The second time it was much more like "just" a heavy period (I couldn't go far without "comfort breaks") and lasted for about ten days, which by the end was just small amounts of brown stuff. Each time was preceeded by about a week of on/off brown spotting.
Not sure how heavy next AF was compared to my normal periods as I usually use tampons, but it seemed pretty heavy for about 3-4 days. This time I'm still waiting - it's due anytime from next Wednesday onwards at a guess, but I've no real idea.
Miserable. Really hope it all finishes for you both (and anyone else) soon, as it's such a constant reminder. And it's raining.
On the plus side, going to what looks like a really cool gig tonight - a Senegalese band, so will put on my positive head and enjoy it. Hope everyone's got something nice and relaxing planned for the w/e, whether it's going out, or taking time to recover from all these nasty lurgies. Big hugs all round. xxx0 -
Hi Smartie. After my first mc my AF was just like a normal period, sorry not much help!
