Trying For a Baby III

  • While logged in, I hope you don't mind me venting.... I was working at my parents' house yesterday, as it's halfway between two work assignments, one on Wednesday and one today (which was cancelled at the last minute, which is another thing to rant about, but means I'm back home today - yay!). I think I mentioned this before, but I've been finding it hard after our two MCs that my little sister is expecting a baby due three weeks before our first would have been born. So thought a therapeutic thing to do would be to knit her baby a little jacket. Couldn't find my needles at home (not surprising since I haven't touched them in about 20yrs, and have moved twice in the last year so can't find anything) so bought some, and have been really enjoying the rather meditative process of knitting. While at my parents, I tried looking for my old knitting bag. Couldn't find it, but came across several drawers full of baby clothes, obviously waiting for my sister. Now of course, there's nothing wrong or surprising about this. It's just that being unexpected, it's knocked me sideways rather. Just felt so empty. Most of the time I'm doing okay at being upbeat and positive (ish), but today I'm feeling really down.

Anyway, I feel better for writing this down. So thanks for listening. Nearly the weekend....
  • ((((Big hugs)))) Astro. x x

And nice to meet you too. x x
    Whistle while you work...
  • Hi all, ((hugs)) to those that need them, seems there are a few of you about having a rough time at the moment :(

courgette-how exciting! Please can we have pics when you get chance, I love wedding pics, reminds me of what a fab day I had on mine and really lifts my mood :)

confuzzled I've got everything crossed for you for tomorrow! :)

As for me, CD18, went for my progesterone blood sample (supposed to be CD21 but I only have a 26 day cycle ) and she also did me a chlamydia swab and a HVS- anyone know what that's for? Think its Group B strep or something. Anywho, she was much nicer than I anticipated (thought I'd get an ear bashing about being premature with testing) which was a surprise!
Been feeling quite crampy in my groin for the last few days which is odd as I'm only 4DPO, wondering if I have a grumbling cyst again......or I could just get on with my work and stop thinking about it :o

My friend is still hanging onto her baby, the contractions have eased off so I'm going to see her tonight and give her massive hugs. The stay put vibes are working ladies, thankyou

    stickybabydust ladies xx

And ellie-hope it was good news today honey xx

Lovely to meet you too, Bam, which reminds me... A while back you asked about everyone's situation, and I didn't manage to reply. I'm 38 (how did that happen?!) and DH is 43, been trying for over a year, but two missed MCs this summer. Not so much TTC now as TT-hang-on-to-one....

Btw does anyone know anything about sticky blood syndrome (think that's what it's called) as a cause of multiple MCs? Someone told me yesterday they was a correlation with migraines, which I get badly, so might be worth me badgering the doctor about tests sooner rather than later, rather than waiting for another one to happen first....

Yes I've got it, it's also linked to arthritis, lupus & auto immune complaints, I have had several m/cs due to this all in the first seven weeks of pregnancy & one successful pregnancy so don't give up hope.

I take asprin each day to help this.

Thanks for the advice Natalie. Unfortunately, realised when I was about 12 that I was allergic to aspirin, so haven't tried taking it since. Not sure if I'm brave enough to try it again - will talk to the doc and see what she says. No point in worrying at the mo though, as I haven't even got to the point of being tested. But it's useful to be prepared with as much info as possible.
  • Just ask for a blood test, as for the asprin I'm sure that there are other drugs that do the same thing.

Do you suffer from aching joints & stiffness, as this can sometimes be the first sign of problems.

Right I've called the doctors twice now. They are calling me back after 2pm to chat to me. I'm really worried they won't give me a sick note and I'll have to go back on Monday. I do want to go back don't get me wrong...but I'm sleeping 14 hours a day and not really eating. I just feel exhausted and I've not even been doing anything. No way I could cope with kids. Not to mention the 40 minute commute each way!
