Thanks Skinty, for the moment I'm interested in recommended internet resources - there's so much stuff out there and I don't want to go wrong.

I'm sorry you're a bit upset - I think it's difficult for them to understand just how much needs to be done, especially since they lack the nesting urges and don't get the sheer importance of it all.

Why are people so interested in the actual due date? And how is it their business?!

Nikabella, I don't know how you did it. I can't even see mine with the aid of a mirror - I need two reflecting into each other, and then I don't have any free hands :rotfl:

Niknak, feel better soon - lots of fluids and rest.

GISI - hugs to you too, hope work is peaceful and not stressful at all.

And hugs to everyone else. Another busy day planned for me, starting with a phone call in German (hate that, and the person I have to speak to is Bavarian so the accent is much thicker and more difficult to understand). Someone's coming by to pick up our box of flea market donations though, and the room feels so much bigger without it sitting there in the corner taking up space. Let's hope we see at least one baby this week!

in work and guess what? I feel rough! Runny nose, sore throat and a muzzy head - I know it's from being out in the rain yesterday but all this crap on the news is in the back of my mind.
Am barricaded in my room (the door only opens from the inside :D) so I can vet anyone trying to get in!!

Might also mean I get some work done but I have got a meeting at lunchtime so will have to venture out for that.

Question is, can I get away with this for the next 4 weeks?

Ah my fingers are sooooo sore this morning and I left all my paracetamol at home

    Morning ladies.

Coincidentally stumbled across the posts about sore fingers (Glam/XL/Sugar). I am going to call the doctors tomorrow as the joints in my middle fingers are becoming increasingly sore and stiff. I am continually snapping my fingers back into place. Does this sound the same as what you guys have? It started off with the joints above my knuckles, but now it's the knuckles too. It's been happening since Tuesday. I woke up wiith a sore finger and thought I had been sleeping on it funny, but it's been worse on and off since then and now my other hand is at it too!

Very strange that you have only mentioned it in the same week it happened to me!!! I have googled Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, as I assume it must be a mild form of that, but it does talk about pins and needles and wrist problems which I have't had. If it gets worse, I won't be able to work as I do a lot of typing!

Hugs to those in need. I am hols at the moment so typing in the hotel room while OH is still sleeping! Good luck Tink.

Fitzio, it's supposed to be related to water retention in the area of the joints. I find that typing helps because there's movement of the hands without really vigorous movement of the knuckles, IYSWIM. I wake up in the morning and they're frozen into horrible claw shapes, so I move the fingers around gently till they're reasonably mobile, soak them in warm water for a bit and then they don't hurt too much for the rest of the day. They're a bit sore, but not the kind of sore that makes you wince, you know?

I'm about to be brave and make my phone call, then depending on the outcome of the call will do something else (possibly clean the stuff on the windowsills, then the windowsills, then tidy the stuff away and put cool decorative stuff on them instead of junk). I hate using the phone in German, it's much easier to talk to people when you can see them. I've been putting it off, but today I will be brave.

Morning all! Felt like I was eyeballing people all morning on the train ever since reading that stuff on swine flu on BBC last night. Didn't help there was another massive article about it in the free paper this morning, too!

I haven't a clue how you ladies manage foof pruning when you're 30wks+...I'm only at 17 and I can barely see to do anything down there!! Will need to buy a trimmer of some sort eventually, as I think using a razor once big bump comes could be very dangerous, lol :p

SS - you can do it! I've learned 2 languages in my time and I STILL hate talking to people. I'm much better at reading/writing.

Fitzio - yep that's it! Except mine never actually snap! They are just dead sore all the time.

Must be the stage of pregnancy that we are at!

I tend to sleep on my left with my left arm tucked under the pillow and my right arm right up over my head - I find that as well as my fingers being sore, my left elbow and right shoulder are also sore but think this is due to the weird way I sleep

Thanks aless - it wasn't a problem at all, it's mostly that the thought of it really unnerves me so I get in a panic before I start. That and the Bavarians tend to speak so quickly that I'm just listening out for where the words start and end! I'm competent to different degrees in three languages besides English, but hate the phone in all of them because it's so much easier to send an email or to look at the person you're talking to and see what they're doing.

I'm with you on the foof pruning - the underneath bits are ok cause you're not aiming for symmetry, but trying to make a neat little shape completely blind - impossible! I've not seen it in months, but apparently it's like the 70s gone wild under my bump :rotfl:

on the foof pruning - I just whacked it all off with an electric razor!

Gave it a number 2 all over and then used the foil razor on the top and sides for a 'close shave' - before you ask I didn't use OH's razor it is my own that has special foof clippers :D

Anything had to be an improvement - I was amazed at how far it had managed to grow!
