Re: cheesecake discussion. All the cheesecakes I make are cooked, so the eggs/soft cheese wouldn't be a problem - there are plenty of "no-bake" recipes out there, but cooked ones are lovely too (you cool them down in the fridge after)!! If you had a store-bought one, the eggs would be pasteurized anyway. Soft cheese is perfectly fine anyway!

I do cheats cheesecake, soft cheese (asda stuff), cream and sugar juts whipped up. Not a great fan of 'traditional cheesecake' don't like the texture. The one I do is softer and doesn't have that... gelatine texture (don't want to say slimy as it sounds really insulting!).

Jeeeeeese I so want cheesecake now....

God, yes - why couldn't the cheesecake discussion have occurred BEFORE we went to the supermarket?!?!?!! I could have BOUGHT one then! Now it's too late. *sob*

Thanks Aless. I was sure I'd read soft cheese in some book or other. Did they just mean brie and camenbert type cheese? I took it to mean philadelphia and the such like. Don't tell me I've been depriving myself all this time for nothing.

Well, I'm all ready to go out. Half an hour early. I'm sure I have forgotten to do something as I don't think I've ever been this done up and ready to go in an hour before. I put a lot more effort in than usual tonight since I haven't been out for ages. I'm having dinner with my two best mates and I'm not sure when I'll be able to go out again so I thought I would make the most of it.

Congrats Pink - I'm hoping to bf too, though seeing the faces my friend was pulling when she tried nearly put me off. It's really nice to hear positive stories about it. I so want to meet my little girl now.

I bought her changing mat today, a lovely old style Winnie the Pooh one from Matalan for just £10. The Humphreys Corner one at the dreaded mothercare is\was £20. Can't see it now though so maybe they don't do it anymore. Had really bad review as it was fabric and not easy to clean. Learned my lesson there and decided I'd read reviews from now on.

    Hello everyone,

congrats Catz - I like your baby names :)
Hello to all newbies - we seem to be getting a lot of new people which is great :D
Huge labour vibes for tink if she still needs them!
Thanks for puting the little pink sign on for me Fitzio :)
*hugs* to everyone else who would like them :)

Today was quite a successful shopping day. Got to John Lewis as we had vouchers for there, and have ordered our carseat which we can go and collect on Monday which is great: it was the last 'big' thing that we had left to buy. We then went to mothercare (or is that a bad word now?) and got some really cute clothes and other bits and pieces like a baby grobag. It's all starting to feel incredibly real! I think one of my favourite buys of the day is a baby miffy bunny toy with a little bell in it :D

Not sure what we're going to have for tea tonight: possibly pizza I think. Though I now *need* cheesecake so I wonder if hubby would like to take a drive up to tescos? :p

harley - yeah, you're not supposed to have 'soft cheeses' like Brie & sheep's cheese (the soft kind...not feta). Cream cheese is fine as far as I've read/heard! Go reward yourself for all these months of deprivation, hehe.

No Brie? Really? Bu99er. I've been cutting off the rind and only eating it pasteurised (on fresh brown bread with cherry jam), but brie and I are good friends. Now I feel dreadfully guilty.
