Glam - yes, GD for me was diet controlled. Hopefully once you get to a point with the insulin where it keeps it under control, it will plateau for a bit, so you don't have to keep changing it so much. Have they said if they're going to definitely induce you and when? My consultant said if I'd been on insulin, I would be induced at 38wks. It's a little nerve wracking, as it's normal to worry about complications due to induction, I think, but it's great to think "ahhh but I won't have to go 2 wks overdue like I did when pregnant with DD!" And it greatly reduces the chance of having a huuuuge baby, I think!
After reading the booklet they gave me on induction, they do the gel, wait 6 hours to see if it responds, then do it once more, then wait overnight, and do it once more if need be. Last time (with DS2) it only took one dose, and the contractions came on gradually and were actually quite manageable for the most part, for which I was profoundly grateful! lol My understanding is that the gel stuff generally brings labour on more gradually, whereas the drip sort of "catapults" you into labour, which is where there is a higher risk of complications. If you're looking at softening the cervix, to prepare for induction, I've seen some reference to evening primrose oil capsules doing this - you could ask your midwife or consultant about this. I've been bouncing on a fitness ball (verrrrrry graceful looking, let me tell ya!) as it's supposed to put you in the right position to encourage the baby to go into a good position as well as move towards engaging.
they said if I could control with diet only I would be induced at 40 weeks but if I went onto Insulin it would be 38 weeks. After I went on Insulin (10mins later) I asked the MW and they said it would depend nearer the time but they might let me wait until 39 weeks. I don't think I want to wait though
I'll def be doing the EPO, lots of sex and anything else that might work!
Well, I went for a shower and decided to de-fuzz beforehand - been keeping on top of legs and pits but thought I better check my foof area.
OMG :eek::eek: forget jungle, think RAINFOREST. Jeez, talk about out of sight out of mind - I positioned myself in front of the mirror to do it and ended up going from one extreme to another. How on earth do you girls manage it?
sorry for starting the cheesecake discussion - I don't bake mine, just let it set in the fridge.
Didn't even make flapjacks cos I noticed OH had a load of cakes in the cupboard which need eating soon, I might treat myself to a bit after I've made tea in a bit.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I add sugar sometimes or if the flavour goes you could add a dash of honey
I remember someone who used to post on here added vimto to RLT to sweeten it - think I will do this as honey and sugar are probably not a good idea!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

SS- to be honest, you've got this far eating the brie, so it's probably far too late to worry! I do miss brie, I must admit. I was stood in Sainsburys staring at a smoked brie the other day, but just couldn't bring myself to buy it. Something to look forward to over Christmas me thinks. I'm gonna be going crazy over the cheese board this year I think, then worry about losing the lbs in the new year- the joy of a November baby
.
Was stressing a bit earlier that I had barely felt baby move, but he is now wriggling around like mad so I'm happy again.
EA- keep the ginger tea, you might fancy it a bit further on. I do find it very soothing if I'm feeling icky. Have you tried flat lemonade or coke?
Just treated myself to some Ben and Jerry's Phis Food frozen yogurt in Tesco- £1.99 :money:. Also got some cherry flavoured water which is very yummy.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

NIcki - go and see a good hypnotherapist and ask for some fear release hypnotherapy, a lot of hypnobirthing practisioners do have a fear release script that they are given in training but i would suggest you went to see a much more widely trained hypnotherapist who can help with panic attacks and to get the anxiety you have built up around the other birth into perspective within your subconscious. If you are in London i can recommend someone who is amazing but she's not that cheap, she was teaching me when i trained in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Tink - Hope things started going for you today!
Glam - Pregnancy related sickness cannot be tracked as part of your normal sickness record by law, so if you call in sick because of your pregnancy your sickness record remains unblemished
Sugar - I've had Brie all the way through my pregnancy, if you had listeria you'd know so it was obviously fine.
I got my C-section date through this morning, I'm having my baby on the 11th August, 2 days after my birthday!0 -
I loveloveLOVE my hubby
I told him I wanted cheesecake and something to drink, so he went to tesco for me. As he didn't know what I would like, I now have 2 cheesecakes, a tub of cherries and cream icecream, some sparkling britvic juice, tropicana juice, milkshake, caffeine free diet coke, multipack variety cereal and turkey dinosaurs which I love :j
Does anyone know if I can eat a fresh tesco cheesecake which contains low fat soft cheese, egg, and lemon curd? Its not a baked one...0
