  • mine is a mixed bag... dad is an Inuit, mum is mainly pyraean with irish water spaniel and shar pei...

he's such a whimp! showed him a baby and toddler last week.... baby was fine cos he got to lick her sweaty feet - toddler not so sure cos she walked straight up to him... but soon settled and eventually happy to let her stroke him wrong way...

might try a doll... he listens when i tell him 'no'... keeps trying to lick his castration wound, but will stop heading that way when i tell him... has been licking he front paw all day... maybe had some sticky stuff on it in the vets...?

Fitz - It was through deedpoll.org.uk, it’s cost us £34 to change my name and £4 for my title. Very quick and easy to do , no solicitor involved. free delivery if you have standard delivery service so all in all depending what you want it for , it’s good value.

JHA- Thanks - Hopefully she'll come tonight instead of Induction Day tomorrow

WM - Hope they kick in soon.

FITZ - edit : not sure how it'll work out for you as your ex has parental rights? It may say on the website or you may have consulted a solicitor I don't know - I cant change the surname of my 4 children as although we wasnt married they had his name and he would refuse to change it. In that case my only choice would be to double barrell the name at school etc and drop his name after a while....You sound like you was married so i think thats a different ball game.
  • we're married... as far as i can tell, because we're married he doesnt need to be present when i register the baby..

so the idea is that i go on my own to register him, then give him my new surname.

i think if we werent married and i wanted fathers details on the birth cert, he'd have to come with me to register. he would prob cause a scene then when i chose the name.

have asked the local register office about the names etc.. they said i can have my maiden name for baby if i want....

Well, my lounge blinds are up and look fantastic. Took some doing though. Needed to drill into the lintel above the window and there is a metal sheet all the way along. Poor dad was getting a bit warm with all the effort he was having to put in. Several neighbours have started to wave at me before realising that they can't see in. Freak not been past yet, but likely to be tomorrow morning, maybe he won't trip over my car in future if there is no point getting distracted by looking in my windows. They also had a facia on the front, but it didn't quite fit, so poor dad had to search the garage for the hacksaw to cut it down to size. Got there in the end and I'm so pleased with the way they look.

Boss popped round to drop off my birthday present, and best mate is coming tomorrow, hopefully for the same thing. She is bringing my lovely goddaughter with her too so I get some cuddles if I'm lucky.

    Hope you are all well,

Yay Glam on the last day at work and bigger yay Suzy on meeting baby in next 48 hours. Hope you go tonight and avoid the actual induction. Mahoosive vibes for you.

Right..i didnt know that, well thats good news for you.. It must be harder when your not married, like in my case. Its a pain and a constant reminder !

Sounds like your doing the right thing
  • could you not write to your ex and explain that the kids would be better off with your surname?

some men have hearts / common sense...

i think it would be harder if i waited to change my name, or if i gave him his fathers name when registering... not left much time to get sorted really!

    fitzillian19 that's quite a mix for a dog lol
I'm training them constant (got two Akita's btw) they are not a breed you can let get out of hand. Will spend time training them with just the doll it's self then change clothing and smell of it over time, tempt them with milk sweets and bits of meat etc. I have trained dogs like this in the past for other people. so if you want any advice about it just ask.

My main problem will be burping the baby. They are protective of the kids we cant play rough or tickle them or he will go mad and get all worked up. So thats one i will need to work on allot. Can just amagine explaining that one at A&E.:rotfl:

We dont have anything to do with him. Not seen him for years and we dont want to. Everythings been a struggle as it is and dont mention the maintenance side of things. You dont pay for your children you dont see them is what i think.

To be honest my oldest are 16 and 15 now so its up to them what they do in the future. The younger 2 are 12 and 10 so we may double barrell their name. We've been split for 9 years so its not as important to me so much anymore. Times a healer hey.

Right got to pop to Tesco, I'll try and pop back on in the morning before the induction
    take care all

Quick last min labour vibes for you suzy before you log off to go to tesco:D
  • yeah i've been told he will try and take charge... but so far apart from jumping up (which was easy enough to sort out with squirty water bottle aimed at his face) he's been quite submissive...

just got to work on recall... but i read up on the indiviual breeds and one of them is notoriously bad!

suzy... i agree... not sure the inlaws will come september though! and good luck!
