I was worried by this too, as we live about 2 miles from DS's school, and he also does karate twice a week and a youth group one night a week. When I mentioned to a friend it was one of the things I was factoring into my thinking about whether to have a c section or not, she looked at me as if I was barking mad, and identified about 5 mutual friends all of whom would be happy to help out for a few weeks picking him up and dropping him off. It genuinely hadn't occured to me that I could or should ask people to help out in this way until she mentioned it, when I suddenly realised that so many of my son's friends do the same activities as he does, or friends of mine live close enough to help, that it wouldn't be a huge inconvenience for any of them to do it once or twice, and there are enough of them to mean that no one would have to do it more. As my friend who made the suggestion said, people love to help out after the birth of a new baby. It's the one time they don't feel put upon by being asked for a small favour to help!
Thanks Nicki.
Its a nightmare isn't it? Oh to have a social life like a kids.
My mum would do the Judo if i asked, OH cousin helped us out with the football, when OH was in hospital and i'm sure she's help out again. Its just he swimming and thats the most important as far as i am concerned. My mum works on a saturday so can't help with that. OH's parents, wouldn't dream of taking him to any of his activities. OH will just have to do it. Its either that and DS stops and goes back on the waiting list, which could take 4-6 months to get a place again. And if he misses any of his lessons thats £6.75 thrown away. Not MSE at all.0 -

Welcome to three! Another Scot, yaay!
Booboo - I bought the top version of your dress to wear to a wedding 2 weeks ago. I really liked it. Would have preferred the dress, but no way I could wear a dress with my swollen ankles and feet!
I have added JHA to the list I posted, so it's up to date. Whoever is next should use that one! x0 -
Do you have an estimated due date yet, or you not sure yet? Just wondered in case you wanted adding to the list.
It's strange this is baby number 3 yet i feel strangely terrified at the thought of a baby and the labour:eek:.
As soon as i get an excact date i will post it.[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

How far away do you live from the pool? Is it accessible by public transport or near a shopping area, or do you know other kids who have a lesson at the same time whose parents would do the pick up? If your OH really can't be relied on to do it, and there are no friends or rellies who can help, could you get there with baby and son either by minicab or on public transport and maybe make it more worthwhile by having a few hours out doing something else nearby at the same time (or even lunch). His lesson only looks like it takes half an hour which isn't long to hang around for him, especially if you can then go on and do something more fun afterwards as a family0 -

WM - it is a big Mothercare isn't it? I feel quite daunted going on there - there is soooooooooooooooooooo much stuff!![/QUOTE]
Yes it is. Although i haven't been in it this time round Yet! Have tried to get things cheaper over the internet this time. Have stayed away because i just know i would have to buy. Everything is just so cute.
Is it sad that i'm currently watching Girls Aloud in concert on Sky1. And am having severe figure envy for everyone of them. I used to look like that, then i hit 34 and it all seemed to go down hill. I am just hoping that it was the coming off the pill that made me put 1/2 stone on before i actually got pregnant. And obviously as soon as i give birth and am back on the pill, i will jump straight back into my River Island size 6 skinny jeans. :rotfl::rotfl: Well I can but dream, can't I???

workinmummy wrote: »Oh Harley, re the £50 vouchers you have left for Mothercare. I know you want to rid yourself of them by can you not save them if you really don't need anything. Don't know what your Mothercare is like, but the superstore one close to me in Warrington, has a Clarks in it, if i had any left over, i would save them and use them towards shoes once your little one starts walking. As they cost a fortune and once they start on shoes they do through them so fast. Just a thought:rolleyes:
Thanks WM. I was thinking along those lines. Don't think the Taunton (next town over) one has a clarks but they did have a much bigger range of clothes, toys and things. They won't go to waste I'm sure but I'm damned if I'm buying sheets in there at £13 when I can get the same ones in Tesco for £8. That would just be throwing money away. I'll save them until there is something we really want.fattybooboo wrote: »Congratulations Three2be!!
Great idea about the ebay business for your OH Glam, I always liked the idea of doing that but doesnt help that I never bother going to the car boots, lol!! Our nearest decent one is at Yeovil which is about 45 mins away.
I'm in Yeovil Boo and for sellers that Car Boot is rubbish too. Buyers probably get a bargain but I stood there getting sunburned a month or so ago for 6 hours and made a whole £35 and they took £6 of that as sellers fee. I was asking extremely low money for some brand new and top quality things and they would come back with an 'offer' of 10% and refuse to budge. I really wanted to clear out to make room in my house but some peoples attitudes got up my nose and I dug my heels in. Am slowly listing it on ebay for more sensible amounts. Though, even that has gone quiet the last week or two.
