What time should i start downing the water? Repeat anomaly at 2pm - and it's only being repeated cos i didn't drink enough water last time!!!

I don't want to start too early and make life hard!

Beenie, Sugar was saying to me that water takes about 25 minutes from mouth to bladder (presumably if your stomach is empty-ish) so maybe aim to drink about a pint or pint and a half of water and finish it about 30 mins before your appointment. Shouldn't be too uncomfortable for too long then.

25 mins! I thougght it would be much much longer than that! Thanks SJ, think i'll not go to loo after 12 then drink steadily til scan, hopefully that will work rather than downing it and bloating myself :D

Congratulations Tia!!!!! So glad baby is doing well, and that the section went well.

Congratulations too to Carla! Look forward to Birth Story.

GOOD LUCK HYPNO! You will be a fab mum I'm sure, but its normal to have a wobble before hand. It's the ones who know they will be great without thinking about what it entails, who are the rubbish parents imho! The rest of us have to keep re-evaluating to make sure we are doing the best for our bundles.

Aless - I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Whether expected or not, these things are hard to bear. I am thinking of you. I think the anomaly scan should be fine to wait until you return, but as others have said check in with your midwife. I'd also ask her to do you a letter certifying you fit to fly. Different airlines have different rules about what point you need this from, and you should be fine on most of them before 24 weeks, but you don't need the added stress of having to argue at check in what your due date is and that you are fit to fly. And don't forget to take your notes with you just in case you need to be checked out while you are away.
