Elastigirl, swaddling was a godsend with my DS. I have bought a swaddle blanket (ebay), this time round. But last time just used a normal blanket.
So sorry Aless, big hugs to you.
Good luck this afternoon Hypno. Only a few hours left to go.
More vibes for Suzy, shelvis and Fairydawn.
And big congratulations to Carla and Sugar.
Went to pamper session last night and there were only 5 ladies there. So got to have two treatments - File and polish and neck and shoulder massage, they were fab. Even had time to sit in the community room and talk to the midwife, most of the ladies want a waterbirth, a couple wanted one at home. Is it me or am i just the only one that wants all the drugs possible!!. There was even a girl there who was being a surrogate for her sister. Its here sisters eggs and sister husbands sperm she's "just" the oven. Shes wants a waterbirth, but then to have the baby delivered onto her sister (the mum) straight away, so they can bond. Wow, such a selfless thing to do. Can't imagine going through all this for someone else.
Came home, with my little pamper pack again and then had to give my five year old a massage!!!! He is spoilt little brat :rotfl:0 -
Quick question
I had my booking in appointment last thursday when I was 8 weeks, and the midwife said I would receive my scan appointment in the post and my scan would be when I am between 11 weeks and 13 weeks.
Well still to date nothing has come through, I know there is still plenty of time for it but I am itching for my scan, and I was wondering how quick people got their appointments through after their booking appointment
Also I had all my first lot of blood tests done last thursday as well, the MW said I could ring for the results on thursday, do I need to ring the docs? just my mate said last ngiht that I dont need to ring for them cos the docs would ring me or write to me if something showed up wrong?
So sorry Alesss

WM - sounds fab! Must see if my local surestart does that (not that I even know where it is!)
Kindof - My MW rang me the day after my booking in appointment with the date but it took about a week for the letter to come through.
I have never been contacted about my bloods - I have had them done and then at next appt been told they were fine. My understanding is they contact you if there are any problems, as the MW requests the bloods then they might not even get sent back to your GP.
You can always ring the community midwife and askA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Well see i didn't know about this - but i agree and will edit the list back to what it was before, which i think was 3 weeks worth? It was just getting v.v.long and people usually cut it down! (but i see no reason why the birth list should stay short really, after all it's what we're here for?!)Beenie - how did you find those figures out?!! I found out my booking bloods results at dating scan, but not sure if that's always the case. Ring them if you're desperate, but otherwise i'd wait til scan as mw will prob fill in your notes with the results then!0 -
Twice in one week, back pain got the better of me and am stuck with day time telly and housework I can't physically do even though it desperately needs it (estate agents pics tomorrow to get flat on the market so we can move somewhere with more than 1 bedroom! In less than 17 weeks!). Probably now have an irate boss too but nothing I can do about that now so not worried about it. Managed to get a gp appointment this afternoon so hoping they can give me something - drugs, advice, name of a local chiropractor / osteopath etc.
But enough of me, hugs to Aless, have a safe trip and my 20 week scan wasn't until just shy of 22 weeks so I am sure 23-24 weeks won't be a problem - and indeed, that it doesn't show any problems.0 -

Hello Everyone,
Thankyou for the advice yesterday regarding paracetamol, I had a much better sleep last night after taking 2 tabs before bed. Woke up with backache! Had the weirdest dreams though, and felt hungry all through the night, although I went to bed feeling sick!?
Feeling extremely tired most of the time, seems to hit me more in the afternoon, and sore boobies as well now! The house is a tip because I just don't have the energy to anything.

Kindof, my apt took about ten days to come through. The MW said I should get it within two weeks.
With the bloods at my practice they only call if there are any problems. I had to go onto iron tablets and got a call within a week about the that. Nothing was ever said about the rest of the results which were normal.
Always- you have my sympathy! Hope your GP can do something to help you x x:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
