Did she tell you what the tablets were? If so, you can google to find out whether they are antibiotics or iron tablets. Or go in and collect the script and take it to the pharmacist who will explain what they are for?
There really isn't any reason to panic. As others have said if it was anything at all serious the GP would have phoned you direct or asked for you to come in and see him or her.0 -

Kind - This happened to me. The receptionist phoned me saying i needed this perscription asap and needed to collect it that day- it was for a uti. I said where have you got this info from, she said the midwife. I trotted down to the clinic and said i want proof as i havent seen the midwife for about 8 weeks why treat a uti now, it would of cleared up. I had no symptoms anyway. Doctor did another water test and i had nothing, surprise suprise!
Raised your concerns if you havent had your waters tested recently. After all you dont want to take some medication that you dont want to. If you have had them tested them the midwife would automatically let the gp know so they can write you a perscription but ask to see evidence as they normally fax this info through.

Kind of - please try not to worry until you know there is something to worry about. Scaring you is what doctors do even though they don't mean to, if it was anything to worry about they would have phoned you to discuss it with you. This does, imho, tend to frighten the life out of you but it's just because they don't think not because they want you to worry. I would get the prescription then ring either the doctor or your midwife to tell them what you have been given and ask what it is for.
For any of you interested, and I know some of you have the M&P Barnaby Bear bouncy chair, boots have the matching floor mat on offer £10 off down to £27.99. http://www.boots.com/en/Mamas-and-Papas-Once-Upon-a-time-Playmat_857256/
I have just got this, since the pharmacist kept me waiting 15 mins for my prescription. I swear they do it just to make you go and spend money in the rest of the store.
Anyway, I got that, a mini mode Jacket (half price at £5) and some mini mode bibs (5 for £6). I used the £3 off £10 on mini mode spend from back of new catalogue, £5 off if spend over £15 from recent mailing, and 350 points if spend over £35 from ACM, 150 points on £20+ spend from recent magazine advert and gained 120 normal points.
So all that for £30.99 with £6.20 worth of points onto my card when original price (which I was going to pay anyway) of just the mat was £37.99.
God I'm good.
Hope this helps someone else.
