and dont be worried about posting use us to vent your worries anytime ;-) x
Hopefully we can find out the sex, at my first scan they couldn't get the nuchal measurement because the awkward child wouldn't wake up!
None of my family want to know if it's a boy or a girl - not sure how I can keep it a secret for the next 5 months, it's too exciting!!:j0 -
albionsarah- I first felt bubs move at about 18 weeks but I think i probably had felt it before then but that's when i realised what i was feeling was baby, it just kind of felt like I had a little bit of a dodge tummy at first, kind of churny and like i had a bit of wind making it through my intestines.....weird way to explain i suppose but don't panic if you haven't felt bubba yet, some women dont feel their babies till 20-22 weeks and althought it's frustrating it can just be dependant on where your placenta is, my sis took ages to feel hers but her placenta was at the front of her tum, and although her bubs was kicking away she just couldn't feel it because it either went towards her back or into the cushion of the placenta.0

My LO was very awkward at Nuchal scan but they kept going for 30mins and got it eventually
I always refer to bubs as he so wouldn't be any good at keeping it a secret!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
what are the steroid injections for?!!!
I had these into my scar tissue when it was still red and raised and it hurt like hell! Take paracetamol before you go in - it might help
MIne were to help the little man's lungs develop because they were worried that he would be making an exit at arounjd 32-33 weeks, little did they know i would do a sterling job of baking him till now! (36+3 today!)0 -
And then you can't sit on your butt for hours! :rotfl:
Glam, because she is coming at 37 weeks the steroids are to help her lungs mature. especially since a section carries a higher risk of respiratory problems for baby. Just a precaution. But one I am happy to make, both the boys had steroids and did well despite their prematurity. Then again there is conflicting evidence as to whether they work or not, but 2 lots of burny burny jabs in the butt and some lobsterification on the chance that they do help is worth it.0 -

Keeping secrets aren't my strong point - big mouth won't stay shut!
30 minutes?! I was in and out in about 5 mins, but then they kept us waiting for an hour and 20 minutes before we were seen. Guess the baby was bored and needed a nap by then! x0 -

I paid private £150 - they were running an hour behind and by the time I went in my bladder was so full, baby was all squashed up and I had to go pee. The women scanning me couldn't get the measurements, he spent 20minutes rolling over and mooning her! Then her senior came in to take over and he was a bit arrogant and said he would get it straight away - took him 10mins cos bubs decided to go to sleep! Typical man!
Got there eventually!
Thanks girls - glad I won't need to have the injections - she hopes!!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

This made me laugh! I had to roll over a few times but LO wasn't interested. I was so glad when they said my scanning man (sonographer?) preferred an empty bladder- I peed for about 10 minutes!!
Going to see if I can find anything for tea - Mini Cheddars is sounding promising!
Thanks for your help ladies xx0 -
Hi all.
I didnt feel my baby moving properly until around 20 weeks and even then it was a few more weeks before I was sure thats what I was feeling!! Now (at 25 weeks) I am sure when its baby moving. I put the remote on my belly the other night and it was jiggling around, must show DH that.
Well I have had a very mse day today preg wise. We didnt go to Southampton in the end so decided to pop to local tesco and use our double up vouchers on baby stuff. Bought some food too and luckily put that through the till first as it gave us a £4 off £40 shop voucher. So we got about £45 worth of baby stuff (inc muslins, nappies, soothers, baby bath wash etc) for £33 once we put the £4 voucher thorough and also the vouchers which came with the tesco parenting club. I was loving it!!
Then we came home and we were gonna order a cot off of Mamas and Papas before the sale ends tonight. I didnt realise how much they vary size wise so we measured the ones we liked and lucky we did as some would of been way too big for our little nursery aka box room!! So we decided on the willow cot at £130 (10% off) plus £10 delivery. I had a quick look around on the internet incase it was any cheaper elsewhere and it was cheaper in boots at £113.53 as had 20% off plus they were cheaper to start with, yay!! So we have ordered the cot and the mattress from boots, gone through pigsback, get our advantage points too and was able to get another 10% off using the parenting club voucher that cameNeedless to say, I feel we have had a productive sunday!!
Now debating what to put on for dinner, chicken pie is a high contenderBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -

Thanks in advance! x
I didn't feel mine until 20 weeks and was really worried that everyone else had felt it earlier. Once I felt it once though I suddenly started feeling it all the time, and now am used to some very strong kicks, mostly at about 4am!albionsarah wrote: »Keeping secrets aren't my strong point - big mouth won't stay shut!

I think it would be really hard not to decorate the nursery for whichever sex it is, buy gender specific clothes etc. Good luck if you do try and keep it a secret though. My family would have jusy had to lump it!fattybooboo wrote: »Hi all.

Ooh, I'm in Southampton. Do you live near by?
I used the Tesco vouchers last week. They are fab when you use the altogether and also combine them with their offers too.
That cot is lovely- well done for finding a bargain!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
