Thanks Glam - he'll be here before you know it!!!
Oh, and it really is all worth it
We obviously have good taste! lol0 -
Nancmat – good luck with your scan tomorrow. Hope you aren’t too disappointed if it’s not the result you preferred.
GISI/Pookie – lovely bump pics! And thanks Glam for the comparison link again. Lol.
EA – I have the Angelsounds Doppler and it’s excellent. Bought it from Amazon complete with gel. Haven't really used it much since baby started kicking though.
Glam – I am having serious back pain today too. It’s been so uncomfortable at work by mid afternoon for the past few days. Think I am going to have to ask about a “special” chair, although I really don’t like drawing attention to myself and asking for special treatment! I was wondering about Jillie too.
Hope everything is ok with Fairydawn too as don't recall her being around for a few days although I think she might lurk sometimes.
JHA – Sorry you are feeling down. Glad you enjoyed your pizza though!
NMS – thanks for the birth story. And the pictures of Liam are brilliant. He looks really healthy.
OH is starting to worry that we haven’t really read any “normal” birth stories. He is starting to think that it’s unavoidable for things to go wrong! I am sure that people must have reasonably straightforward births too though right? Please someone tell me that there is a good chance things can go smooth(ish)!

Fitzio - I think it's more of the case of those that have fairly straight forward births, don't always come back to say how they got on. Try not to worry too much. One of my friends had her baby the day after me, we were on the same ward but different rooms! Hers was a normal, straight forward birth, but her baby was 10lb 4oz :eek:0

Hi NMS
Good to hear from you and sorry things didn't go quite to plan. Just remind me, was this all at Tameside? Would you recommend the place or tell me to run a mile (as my neighbour has told me to do-said I should try and go to St Mary's if I can't have it at home)? Have I got this to look forward to? Liam is beautiful so I'm sure he was worth it(as the old saying goes).
Labour day was cancelled last week due to sickness so still not seen the place yet. Re booked for the 15th Aug.

I was just looking at the pram picture and comparing it to your avvy - it's amazing how clear they 4D is as you can really see the similarities!
Fitzio - my back pain started about 10am and just didn't ease off. The paracetaml did help but it's starting to ease off now - I hope I get a decent sleep tonight - last night I woke myself up snoring a few times
Remember both Sami and Searching both had straightforward births, so did Skinty. Weezl had an easy water birth at home. There is hope!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

That's what I said to DH! It's all the home births that have gone reasonably smoothly on here! Anyway, I am not that worried (yet). I feel I have limited control over whatever happens and people go through it all the time, so no matter what happens, I will deal with it and have a bundle of joy in the end!0 -
Jam - yeah this was all at Tameside! I didn't have any problems with the delivery side of things. It was just the circumstance. The induction made everything that much more intense and the drugs completely knocked em and baby for six!
The problems I had was trying to establish BF, that was the only thing holding us from being discharged. The MW were trying to be supporting but didn't have the time to spend going through the different positions etc...and that fact that baby was so groggy! I think it seemed standard practice for everyone to be kept in for 24hrs too!
We're you not planning ahome birth?
I'm logging off now, but i'll check back tomorrow, so if you have any question feel free to post or PM me!0 -
NMS, nakey baby!! And with his eyes open, I love that one!! Sorry it didn't go to plan. Liam sounds like he is doing well though
I'm going to phone DH as he is still out and I want my snack! :mad:0
