EA - you're only supposed to check for HB about once a week (that's what it said in the user guide we got) so once you're feeling daily squirming you'll probably not feel the need for the doppler. For me, it's real value was in the earlier days when I didn't feel PG so it was nice to make contact!

Nanc - I was going to try and have a water birth in the birthing pool at the hospital but that's gone out the window now :rolleyes:
My MW said you have to put your foot down about it thou because a lot of MW's don't like water births because they aren't as hands on as normal so they try and fob you off.

If anyone wants more info on home water births - see if you can find Weezl's posts leading up to her birth - she posted pics and everything! She's on holiday at the mo but I'll see if I can find it.

oh yea that reminds me - the summer one is crap. I can't hear the HB even now unless I listen really reallyt hard. I get the odd bump when he kicks but i can feel that so don't need to hear it!

He was just scrabbling around in there and my stomach was freaking out!!

Hi All,

Have had my midwife out to do my booking in appointment - how many scans and blood tests! :eek::eek: and looks like ill need the anti D jab too - thrilled.

Anyway I've made a change to my due date - I am 9 weeks today according to my midwife which makes my due date approximately March 6th - now jsut waiting on my first scan letter and scan to confirm it.

EA, early pregnancy is crappy, but the fact you feel so crappy is a good sign. Last time you didn't, sorry that's all I can think about, this time is so different for you it must be a good sign. I had an angelcare doppler (£21 ebay) and picked up the heart beat from about 10 weeks using durex play gel (the gel is important). 12-16 weeks you can usually find it. But don't get freaked out if you can't find it. Anyway, I sold it at about 16-18 weeks as I was then feeling regular movement.

Hypnonu, how about a wee email to those papers all about the problems your having now?

I am really really sore, took co-codomol but they are only really taking the edge off. Want my husband home now! Want bath! Want husband and biscuits and bath!

And DS2 is being a PITA.

Well having spoken to 3 different people of different seniorities today i am apparently being called back someone more senior again on Monday, so we'll see what they say, if i get nothing then there will definitely be an e-mail going out to the papers and the BBC.
