I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and also a bit overweight, size 14 (i'm short too). I'm not obviously showing and can mainly feel the bump when lying down as it just feels squishy otherwise.

Not sure about having such a huge bump at 9 weeks as the womb should be about the size of a grapefruit, but some of those bumps look very big?

Aless i agree with you it's very annoying, i am looking forward to looking pregnant to strangers, even though i feel the size of a house now, but only cos i look fat!

    Afternoon all,

Mollie – Bronwen is adoreable – I cant wait to have my little girl now

WM – and your town has the Heinz factory doesn’t it!! Stuff the pies and give me sauce anyday…why oh why is my town famous for riots!!!

NMS its better to call someone a wollyback than a sheep *******, that’s what we get called!

Nanc - Hope you don’t mind me saying but you can easily get your food down with meal planning (if u don’t already) Over last 3 months we have gone from £650 to around £400 a month for 2 adults and 4 children and that’s with all work/school dinners and toiletries. HTH.Good luck

Went to the hairdressers at 10 , came out at ….2:30 !!!!! I know I know but I now have BIGGGG blonde hair which is gorgeous – think duffy crossed with Pamela Anderson:.OH keeps checking me out.

Must say though I feel really rotton today with this flu, felt ok to go to hairdressers this morning but now feel blergh, must have looked bad as they put the air con on for me and my dress is ringing wet all down the back..

On the baby naming front – I like traditional names that don’t date. We have named our daughter already and choose names for both sexes at around 12 weeks. I always choose a name beforehand and stick with it, it feels more real (to me) to name them in the womb

Anyway not staying on as still feeling pants..

    Later girlies ,Hope everyones ok

    X

Just a quick update too, thanks Suzy for asking after me yesterday.

I took one of the Sertraline tablets on Tuesday but it made me feel awful so i'm not going to carry on taking them. I know i should stick it out as it will pass but i felt so sick, and couldn't sleep, and also felt ridiculously light headed and just generally really awful.
Doesn't help that i'm feeling rubbish in general but my mood has lifted, probably more due to speaking to the doctor about it, not heard from any CT yet so assuming he "downgraded" me to seeing someone else in the end.

Also the UTI has passed now, thankfully but i've been naughty again and not carried on taking the tablets (i'm so bad for doing this)! Hopefully it won't come back to haunt me, i've never had one before so hope i don't become prone to them now, not that i'm helping matters by not finishing the course :o

Beenie - bumps before 12 weeks are generally bloating/water retention. The uterus in MOST women does not rise above the pelvic bone until after 12 weeks. All the books and articles I've ever read say this, so you're right along those lines! I think maybe some women are just a certain shape (and I don't mean fat...I literally mean the shape) pre-preg that makes them look 'pregnant' with the 1st trimester bloating than the rest of us :p but even bloating can send some into mat clothes!!

Harry Potter and the Hilarious Sub-Plot was AWESOME. Really, I loved it!

The next person to ask me if I'm still pregnant is getting my very swollen foot in their butt. That is all, kthnx, except that whoever's spending loads of money in the Next sale instore - that'll be why you're not getting the VIP slots, because you're not buying online.

    Edit: Molly, Bronwen's so beautiful!

Nanc - re NCT, we were sceptics before as ppl had had v mixed experiences and tbh am not a big fan of enforced social bonding type situations BUT our class has been great. This is mainly due to having a very down to earth teacher. No preaching, no judgements, just very direct and calm (and no false jollity/icky ice breaking activities). She also handles the 'class c0ck' masterfully (every group has one!) We've had 2 evening sessions and have an all-day one booked this weekend - am actually looking forward to it.

If only our hypnobirthing was as productive. It actually turns my tolerant and even-tempered husband into an ogre!

Molly - Bronwen is lovely, and so alert! thanks for sharing pics.

On the names thing - we found out the likely sex so we could get the naming arguments out of the way but we could only think of one girl's name! So no arguments anyway! If it turns out to be a boy, well, watch this space  We haven't told anyone except my mum and dad, who luckily love both names... just don't want to tempt fate on her safe arrival.

Re: bump sizes, I was a 14=16 before and it def took a while to get the bump. Skinnier you are the earlier it must show. Am 31 wks now and everyone says how small and neat my bump is but that's only in relation to a 5'9, amply framed mother!

    Afternoon ladies and bumps!

I keep vowing to keep up but everything gets really busy and I miss loads and - wow - new thread! And new babies and mums to be too by the look of it - congratulations and sticky vibes. And kicky out vibes for those that need them, I noticed especially Sugar!

Am 20 weeks today - walking to the station this morning, OH reminded me of the junior doctor who told me way back in April laid up feeling miserable in hospital that my hcg was too low and "you were pregnant but aren't anymore". Forgotten that pain. And how wrong was he!

Had consultant appointment yesterday and little one's heartbeat good and strong. Got a bit of what felt like a lecture about weight gain - is 8 or 9lbs too much at 20 weeks, I don't think it is. To be fair was in overweight BMI range to start with so maybe I shouldn't have put on that much but I've not had chance to look it up.

Names - we are failing miserably! Have 1 boys name that OH suggested and I am warming to as long as I get to use the family middle name but no girls names! Loads of time to worry about that!
