i cant find any of the info on my home emails and all the stuff printed is at home - i'm staying at mums for couple of days...

i dont know why i thought i'd be getting 3 months notice...

just a bit annoyed - i have a feeling you have to complete 3 years service to get the 3 months... i'm exactly 17days short of 3 years...

going to go to see a solicitor - work pay for it - and can now also go and see CAB about a better off calculation with regards to benefits etc

i know i sound greedy - just about to become a single mum with massive mortgage and all the bills to pay... not having the income is going to be hard work! really cant lose the house because rent would cost more than the mortgage (because ex wouldnt have to contrbute to my living costs then)

and the council where absolutely no help - especially with living arrangements... so really not looking forward to visiting the CAB again...

feel really hormonal and want a big cry...

Aw Fitzilian, it's still worth a check to make sure your company are right.

Good Luck for the test later!

ETA - You don't sound greedy at all. We all need to make sure we are getting what we are entitled to, and as much as we can. Have a dodgy hug :grouphug:

fitz - if you're due beginning of September, don't they still have to pay you SMP as well?

Just got back from consultant appointment. I'm 37 wks now, and if I don't go into labour on my own before then, my date for induction is 29 July. So a little bit of a queue jump, but sort of unavoidable, as it's for medical reasons. I am still hoping I go on my own before then though.

yeah i get SMP too... i think it was a bit of a shock as my boss had been making noises about them 'being nice' because of my pregnancy/ volunteered... she thought they would bump up my sevice to 3 years and that they would still offer the enhanced maternity package (which would have bumped up to 12weeks full pay)

argh... just got to work out my money again from scratch and be really tight - not easy to do when i've got to set up the childminding business...

Triggles... excited about the queue-jump? mum asked me yesterday to pick a date - i said 9th sept... then it'll have the coolest birthdate 09/09/09!

Fitz - legally its week per year of service but if contractually you're entitled to more, push it. We just did some redundancies here and one person was a few days shy of the next full year of service so the company agreed to pay a week extra, might be worth negotiating. I think you might still be able to get at least SMP from them - its worked out on the 8 weeks pay before the 15th week before due date so weeks 17-25.
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/helpsheets/e15.pdf this an employer handbook so quite detailed but helps you calculate relevant earnings.
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_10029290 this might help too - looks to me as if you would have been entitled to SMP you still will get it if you are past the 15th week before due date.

I got home a few hours ago but MIL was in.

Well I don't have a UTI or kidney infection, but I do have a lot of ketones in my urine (3 or 4 +) which is probably what is causing the contractions. On top of that I have SPD and ligament pain. The ketones is caused by the diabetes. I was asked if I wanted to stay in but what could they do there that I couldn't do at home? I have pain killers (and don't have to chase someone to get them). I'm sore whethere here or there but my sofa is way more comfy and atleast I might get more sleep here. Plus, DH has to work and the kids need looking after.

Got to phone if I get worse or whatever. I seem to be not too bad in the morning and it starts up at lunch time.

I'm just sore and not looking forward to how long this could last.

But, baby is aprox 6lb2oz!!! At 34 weeks!!!:eek::eek: Still kicking like mad. It looks likely that I will get a c section and much as I am not looking forawrd to it, I think it may be for the best. I've gained 13lb since my booking appointment and they were very pleased! Hopefully I won't gain much more and it should fall off after the birth.
