Tia - wondered where u were last night!

Well, I've just emailed my boss to say that I am not happy about being paid my 19 days annual leave at the end of Mat Leave (May 2010) and that I feel I am being penalised because I have made them aware that I do not intend to return to work after ML. I have a letter from them saying that any untaken annual leave can be taken as pay before my mat leave commences so don't see why that should change just because I've told them I'm not coming back.

Am I being over the top?! They did say originally they would pay it before so I'm banking on that money to allow me to stay off!

I take it you didnt get it in writing off them about you being paid when you go on maternity leave. If not i think you can only appeal to their better nature and the fact they will leave you in finacial hardship. I hope they see sence and pay you chick :-)

Xmas - Give you strength vibes winging their way to you!
Glam - I don't think you are being over the top. Depending on how much you need the money, I wouldn't fall out with them about it if possible, but definitely right to state your case and query why they have changed their minds.
Tia - Are they letting you out today or keeping you in until the baby is born?

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS MY OWN PLAN WHICH I HAVE DEVISED FOR MYSELF. I HAVE LOOKED AT VARIOUS WEBSITES TO GET DOSAGES AND HAVE TAILORED THE PLAN TO SUIT ME AND MY OWN SITUATION (BEING INDUCED AT 38 WEEKS)

All the websites have been linked to on this thread on numerous occasions by various people.

(don't want anyone to hold me responsible and also don't want anyone thinking I'm giving advice - this is just my opinion and my plan)

Well, this is my proposed plan of action - the calcium is supposed to be a pain reliever. EPO to help soften cervix, RLT is to help womb contract so quick second stage and to help contract back after birth. Arnica cream to apply to my lady bits afterwards to soothe them!

Calcium in weeks before labour 1,000mg a day see below with new RDA
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000 mg

    EPO 1-2 500mg from week 34 to week 37
    3-4 500mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38
TOTAL = 6 boxes of 20 tea bags

Arnica Cream For application after birth decided on arnica tablets instead see doses below

one of those sites links to this dosage for calcium

    http://www.herbs2000.com/minerals/calcium.htm

which says average RDA for pregnant woman is 1,200mg (so 2 tabs for me) and then I'll double up to 2,000mg at onset of labour like Weezl's link says.

However, I PM'd Weezl this morning who said she started Calcium at 39 weeks (a bit late in her opinion) so she doubled the RDA dose. So I will probably look at doing this in my last week.

just been researching dosage of Arnica tabs so plan to take

    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
    30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

There are doses for 'acute cases' - such as accidents, operations and things and then a lower dose for a few days after the acute case. It treats shock as well as the bruising which is good.

The thing is I do have a letter which says all about my SMP dates and money and then says it doesn't take into account any holidays I may decide to take as leave or as pay before maternity leave commences.

Glam, noting that this is only your plan and not in any way any sort of medical advice to follow, is the middle line in the arnica section for after birth to 5 days after?

Edit: if you have proof in writing of their original intention that has changed with your circumstances you should have a claim, although they might respond that they made an error the first time if it is normal for AL entitlements to be paid after ML is over.

    And thank you :)

Morning! My the perkiness seems contagious. DH was in a right cheerful mood this morning...I always laugh at him, as he's usually well grumpy until after his 1st coffee sets in :D.

newbie_maz - good to see you on last night!! I was thinking about you the other day, since we're near in dates :D. Good luck on your scan - please do pop back and tell us the flavor!!

Glam - there's also something about stool softener starting the day of/after birth that skinty was talking about. Not sure if you wanted to include that on your plan too. Also, I'd never heard of arnica before & just Googled it. Will add to my mental herbal pharmacy ;). There's just soooo many things to remember in late preg!

xmaslolly - good luck today!! hope you can get what you need

tia - hope yuo're not too bored in hospital and your little lady gets a move on!

Labour vibes for everyone! Can't remember all the names, as it's 4-5 ladies waiting to give birth now, lol...:p

The middle line - I read that you can take 200c arnica during labour as I only have the 30c I plan to take this higher dose (and maybe more) during labour (every 2 hours). Then after birth and for 5 days after take the 3rd line. IFYSWIM.

Thanks Aless - Lactulose was the other one, I'll get one of my docs to do me a script for that so I've got it ready.

Email has been received and I will get a respone shortly - which means she is contacting the HR consultancy company!
