Beenie- sending you big hugs. It must be incredibly daunting- do you have any family who could be around at your EDD? Feel free to come and moan at us lot on here at any time, and get some virtual hugs.
Harley- it's an interesting question. Have you mentioned at any scans that you're not confident in the dates? I'm fairly sure of mine as I'm fairly sure of conception date, but I do often wonder how accurate due dates are.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Well done xmas - I think the to do list is an underrated tool, it makes things seem manageable as well as being so fun to watch things vanish off it. My type-A self has a master list which now incorporates a daily list, a "before the baby arrives" list, a middle-distance list and an eventually list. And various items are in pink (I'll do them), blue (Husband will do them) and black (we'll both do them or it doesn't matter so long as they get done).
"Make cookies" is on his list at the moment, so we have a gift for the midwives/nurses when we go in on Monday. He makes far better cookies than I do. "Take some belly photos" is on mine - it doesn't have to all be dull stuffOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I found that when I was posting my daily lists here I was getting much more done from them - it feels like there's something about saying to other people, Today I will do these things, that makes it official that you have to do them. I stopped doing it because someone complained about seeing them, but we could make a Nesting Thread for people to feel a bit more accountable.
I can't believe someone would complain about that chick seems a bit petty to me! I used to like reading your threads it gave me a kick up the bum to get things done too :jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Nicki i don't find the posts particularly interesting either, since i'm so good at talking myself out of doing even the washing up
However i can't say i've ever been annoyed by the amount of posts by people in this thread, i just skim-read those posts. There's loads of posts in this thread that aren't discussing anything relevant, so where do you draw the line? I'm sure there's plenty of thread discussing maternity benefits/budgeting too, but i don't see anything wrong with that being discussed.
If we banish all posts discussing something that could be posted in another thread then this thread would be "oh my bump is xx big this week/i've just had my scan/i'm due xx date".
Essentially it would then become a chat thread, and there's a daily chat thread in the Arms too, so should we go there?!
I disagree with having spin off threads, it's nice for us to have one place to come to and tak about these things. The birth thread can be an exception as it's good to have all those in one place for ease of reading/less searching. We could easily end up with 10+ spin off threads... There's already pregnancy club threads for 12m ttc & pg, ebay selling, birth stories - i'm sure there's more.
What next?
The" Maternity Pay and Benefits" discussion thread
The "Maternity leave discussion" thread
The "Raspberry leaf tea discussion" thread
The "I'm overdue" thread
The "I'm being induced" thread
The "Nesting" thread
The "My Baby has been born" thread
etc etc0 -
Beenie, how does a person get a FastPass to the "My Baby Has Been Born" Thread?
I wanna get me one of those.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Thank you. I do have my mother, she was brill with my DS, but of late i suspect she's becoming, or is an alcoholic, so not sure if she'd be the best person to call if i went in labour anytime after 7pm!
I also have my sister but she's got 2 young kids and i was hoping she could look after DS!
My best mate has offered to be birthing partner, but she works full time and i don't really want to burden her just because my OH has abandoned me, if that makes sense.
Those are my only options, and although i know i'm not totally alone, i still feel like a burden on other people's lives!0 -
Used to inspire me to get off my bum too Sugar. and remind me of things I needed to do which I had conveniently forgotten about.
GISI, thanks for reply. Glad I'm not the only one that thinks about these things. Didn't really think about it applying to me until last week. We were discussing a lady at work who though her boy was born at 33 weeks when scans showed her at 35 weeks. Then I counted back and got the 3rd Oct date. When I went for scan and found out she is a bit big for her dates I calculated back the other way and got to Aug 31st. Now I really don't know what to believe.
I haven't had chance to discuss it with anyone who's likely to know yet, but I have my next appt with the MW on Monday so I will see what she thinks. If Aug date is right, then I really need to get my act together. And admit defeat on finishing this big project before I have bubs.
Anyone else had any experience of odd dates?

Beenie you have my utmost respect hun. I was thinking about the going alone thing the other day whilst i was out getting some bits up town i kept going dizzy and feeling faint and when i finally managed to sit down feeling very sorry for myself i suddenly realised how many women are doing this on their own and wondering how the hell they cope. So hold your head up high chick you are amazing in my eyes :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Hi all.
Are you all fairly sure of your due dates? I have been thinking about it following last weeks scan that showed baby is huge. The date of last period calculation and the first 2 scans show baby as due 22nd Sept. My earliest possible date for that month is 2nd Oct. If was previous month (with slightly lighter period) due date would be 31 Aug. Scan last week showed bubs was 33+4 at exactly 31 weeks (according to original date) and bubs is 4lb 6 oz instead of the average of 3lb according to the book. Bear in mind that I started this pregnancy at under 8 stone so I'm not exactly big and neither is her dad.
xxxxx
If you had a 12 wk and a 20 wk scan I'd think its very unlikely for them to be 4 weeks out. Theres a huge difference in fetal developement between 12 and 16 weeks and I doubt very much that would go unnoticed.
If you bear in mind that an 'average' sized baby is about 7 and a half pounds, if you are measuring 'average' plus 1 and a half pounds then you would be looking at a birth weight of about 9lbs? This is only my opinion and not based on anything :rotfl:
I'm small aswell and was 7 stone when I feel pregnant with DD, she was just under 9lbs at 38wks x0 -
Thanks harley, i know you doing this alone too helps lots, as i know you've probably thought all of these things too.
He didn't come with me to my scan the other day but i need to go to another one next Fri and he's asked if he can come, not sure what to do. If i'm honest it's doubtful he'll come unless he's already in town.
My sister told me off today for not ringing her to come with me on Monday0
