morning ladies and bumps and newbies!!
gravitytolls -- wow - 9th baby!!!! congrats, but just curious as to how on earth have u managed it!!?? lol. i think i would possibly be in an asylum!
CSH -- your baby bump is lovely. I havent actually took any picures of my bump....may be something for me n OH to do later!!!
Kindof -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
its a nice sunny day, well, this mornign anyways. but am stuck to as what to do.
for any of you with an Asda nearby - i got 2big boxes of pampers nappies for £18 yesterday. they dont do size 1 newborn in the boxes, but i got a size 2 (i think with about 96 nappies in) and i got a box of size 5's for my DD aswell. i thought it was a good bargain, as i usually pay about £11.99 for these boxes!!
rearranged my hospital bag last night too - just to see if baby would pick up on the sense that im ready!!! lol. wanna go out today to buy the wee travel deoderants and shampoos and thats me really. will just need to lift my pillow and throw a brush and my makeup in the bag - (because im gonna look great at all times throughout the birth!! hahahahaha!!!!)
ive rambled a bit today...think im making up for not syain much the past few days!! its either feast of famine with me - sorry!! hehe
on another note -- i was thinking of getting DD a wee gift for when baby comes. She is very into her doll at the minute, so i thought it may be a good idea to get her a doll carseat and cot for her doll, and a couple bit sn pieces like a bottle and stuff for the doll, so that she can play with her doll while me and OH are doing essential things with baby! It may help her to feel included aswell....what do u girls think!?? And if any of you have got pressies for other siblings when a new one arrives, what did u get etc!??Carla-Farla!!

Morning ladies
Need a bit of advice an old colleague is coming back to meet everyone for lunch only she callled to say she has had swine flu and only just gone back to work in an hospital as she's take the tretament. Will it be safe for me to go ? been loking everywhere but can not seem to fine out if it's safe for me or not. Also has anyone heard from Suzywuzy or have i missed something. Aless not too sure ? Surely if you are picking it up and you dont like the look of it you can say no, if not i dont know
i am sure it is only when the person has symptoms that you are at risk.0 -
Morning carla,,,
i got those nappies from asda too,,,also if any of you picked up your bounty pack at asda there is a 5 voucher in it,,i used this and 2x£1 pampers vouchers and got my 2 boxes for £11,,,bargain,,,,
I want to get my dd a gift too she is 13,i was thinking of a locket or something that she can then put her and babys photo in,,,,but not sure,,,as she doesnt really wear jewellery ,only fashion stuff, but it will be nice to keep.0 -
Carla that seems a really nice thing to get your DD, like you say she can feel included by doing things with her dolly that you maybe wouldnt be able to let her do with baby and she wont feel left out as she'll be copying what mum and dad do.
Aless I saw a few prams on the carboot, ranging from £50 to £200. It really is hit and miss though what you can pick up, some weeks ts the grubbiest manky looking thing thats most expensive and others you see someone wheeling away an immaculate one they've paid peanuts for. I cant wait for my mum to come over again next month so I can go the carboot again, I refuse to pay fortunes for clothes that'll be worn for 2 mins when their 50p on their.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
Glam – hope you are feeling a bit better this evening. Take it easy and make sure your OH is doing some cooking etc. You are always busy rushing about!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OH can't cook!
He's been busy prepping for an important interview which he had yesterday so is going to have a tidy round now. I spent the rest of the night packing up the stuff I sold on eBay - so no rest at all.
Up at 3am - took me ages to get out of bed and to bathroom, I had seized up really bad.Okay, I need advice from car boot veterans...I've found a Silver Cross travel system with all the accessories on Gumtree for £100. This seems like a total steal...but I've never looked for baby stuff at a car boot so I don't know if I could possible get a travel system for way cheaper?? I mean, how much do those things usually cost at a car boot? I realise it's all very situational & random, but I also don't wanna pass up this cheap of a pram on Gumtree if I'm not likely to ever see one again that cheap.
Do u have the link? PM it if u like.
I saw a Silver Cross system at Car boot for £120 but was in immaculate condition, a Quinny for £80, old fashioned style prams with big wheels go for around £20 (not a travel system).
You can tend to get ones like the M&P Aria or Freestyler Travel Systems for around £25 - £50 depending on condition. I've seen people asking £80 for Graco and M&P Travel systems but it can be hit and miss.
This is up North though so I imagine people sell things for less than they would in London.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

What about a Pandora type bracelet? You buy the bracelet seperate to the charms but their really popular at the moment and you can get some gorgeous charms for them, some are really trendy and others are more grown up so she could add to it as she gets older and have special charms to signify big events? Ebay have a good assortment, mines not a real pandora as their too expensive for me but everyone comments how nice it is.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
Glam, it's a public listing so I don't mind posting the link: http://www.gumtree.com/london/00/42706700.html
I'm actually not that bothered about a travel system...I had been looking more for a 3-in-1 but am totally open-minded and willing to take the cheapest thing *(of decent quality) I can find, lol!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Thanks Lil Miss
If the person has been treated for swine flu with Tamiflu and it has been 7 days since they started taking it/onset of symptoms then they are safe to return to work. Therefore would be safe to be in contact with people agin. I would say if she's back working in a hospital then she must be fine as she'd be risking a lot of people's health if she was still symptomatic.
and here's what I forgot to post earlier
Happy Birthday Kindof :bdaycake:
Labour vibes to those that need them!!!
Boo - On average I have been picking up vests for 10p, sleepsuits for 20p and then clothing items for between 30p and 50p.
I have tons of jeans, t-shirts, dunagrees, romper suits - which I have paid peanuts for!
Oh yeah and my sister who is pg but won't speak to me - is on team pink
(am I a biatch for high fiving OH when Dad told me cos sis said she really wanted a boy)

Boogellyboo - premature babies run in my family too - I've had my bag packed and everything ready since about week 28. And tomorrow's my EDD and the miscreant isn't budging. I hope yours cooks just as long as you want.
Our travel system came from a car boot, it was £38 for an immaculate pushchair and carseat (we don't have a car so it will only be used for the newborn attachment part in the carseat before the Bellyfrog's big enough to fit in the regular bit). My dad always goes to car boots with a friend of his, and the friend grumbled that I'd wasted my money and would get one cheaper at a different sale - until we went to the different sale and the cheapest there was £50 and looked like it had been through at least a football team's worth of the grubbiest kids ever to grace a pushchair. Whoever was looking - look at the advanced searches on ebay and items for pickup only within 10 miles of your own postcode. We got a travel cot and a bouncer for almost nothing that way.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

gifts for sibs: I was under the impression this was customary! I know my mom bought my sis something when I was born and I just thought it was something people did to help the old sib(s) help welcome the new baby - done as "ooo, look what present the baby brought you!"top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
