Big hugs and feel free if u need a chat to pm me, i sure coming over will help you and your dad. The reason why i need to see a counsultant is because i have this funny shaped womb which may mean theres not enough room for baby to go full term ?? Well i got told this years ago so they may need to give me a c-section quite early. SS Sorry about your grandmother and good luck xxDarling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0 -
Nicki I'm amazed the hospital put the call through too! I would have been screaming obscenities in the direction of the phone I think! And would probably find it hard not to say exactly what I thought about it all when I saw them in person!
I hope they aren't too hard on you about their holiday plans anyway. Another damn cheek if you ask me.0 -
Beenie - I somehow missed that you had your scan & are having a girl!! Congrats!!

Congratulations
Cant wait to see pics and hear birth story.

Lay it on thick, I do believe was my HV's advice!
She gets DLA for her son so she's going to help too. So far, for things I have to do that you wouldn't for a normal newborn, I've got the expressing, the meds, the appointments and the potential probs with childcare (nurseries won't give meds etc).. If you can think of anything else, just shout
Clear your PM box! I'll send you a PM on face book.
No, I'm not one for visitors just after giving birth or getting home. I need time to settle in and get comfy first. But then I have no problems telling people thatThough with DS2 if I knew folk were coming to visit when I couldn't be bothered I went and hid in SCBU with DS2, that was evil but I told folk not to visit me, it was too draining for me. I was so sleepy and ill that everyone just kinda stood round and all I wanted to do was sleep. Passed out on folk a few times too.
Beenie, welcome to team pink!!!
I'm still here, everything stopped about 3am last night and I feel fine today.
I got my surestart grant award!!! Will be paid tomorrow!!! So, anyone who has not applied, apply now just in case you can get it and reapply after baby is born as then you WILL get it.
I am actually feeling really great, not sore at all, I was sleeping on my back last night too, very strange! :rotfl:0 -

Beenie - can you update efrieze's baby name - I think it was Roni Mae.
Aless – so sorry to hear about your mum. Must be difficult being so far away. DH's father died last year of cancer. He was in and out of hospital for several months, and they didn't know what was wrong with him. We were visiting every night so it took a lot out of our lives.
Eventually they diagnosed cancer, but it was too late and it had infected his brain so he didn't even know who people were, and he died within weeks in a hospice. We had to cancel our wedding in New York etc. We got married later in the year after he passed away as we thought it was pointless in postponing it as wouldn't have made any difference and with him dying relatively young, it proved that life was too short. Being pregnant is really helping his mum to have something to look forward to and to focus on. She is really excited.
On the subject of visiting, I have stressed to DH that I don’t want lots of people turning up at the hospital as I have no idea what state I will be in and would rather decide at the time whether I want visitors there or to wait until we get home. He said he understands and it would only be close family – his mum, gran, his sister and BIL, my mum, dad, brother and SIL!!!! I tried to compromise on his mum and my parents, but his mum won’t drive up to ours herself and neither will his sister, so that means that the BIL has to drive them and they can’t leave out the granny! It’s just too much. The baby won’t have aged much if they wait until it’s 2 or 3 days old! :rolleyes:0 -
I'm lucky, my family won't visit in the hospital unless I ask them too. They prefer to wait till we are home, sounds very strange but when I was a baby, my mum had a lot of visitors and apparently I was very cute with huge brown eyes and a head of auburn hair, so all the cleaners used to visit me too. When I was 2 days old I got meningitis and almost died, they sent the minister to me 3 times! Anyway, my mum is convinced it was because of all the visitors, so she won't visit if someone else is there. Don't know if there is anything in it, but it's nice that I get to say 'I want my mum, dad and brother up tonight' and DH will tell his family to stay at home.
His is the biggest family, all I bother with on my side is my mum, dad and little bro. But DH has mum dad, 2 brothers, 2 SIL, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, 4 cousins, 4 neices and 1 nephew that will all troop up, usually all together too! :eek:0
