I am on annual leave this week so been able to post during the day. 4 weeks of work left before A/L and M/L. I work in an office, so occasionally have time to catch up during the day, but rarely have time to post as I am normally really busy.

nanc - I usually am at work when I post (it is so slowww there at the moment and no one cares if you do internet bits as long as your normal work gets done), but took today off as flexi so I'm actually on LESS than usual! :p just been through a fit of window cleaning & hoovering. Annoyed to discover the 2 dirtiest windows can't be cleaned outside as there's just no way to get around the hedge in front of them. I want clean windows!

    I'm a lazy bum and don't work :D

College ended back in June so I'm back to being a carer for DS2. Will be going back to college September 2010.

Nancmat - I am at work. Won't be able to come on next couple of weeks cause I am going to be sooo busy (the time of year for me when everything needs doing) and there are a couple of people on leave so have to cover them as well - going to be very stressful. I can't come on cause I get distracted for over an hour usually, plus come and check on what's happening.
Good news is though that there is only 10 weeks left at work :)

My bump hurts! BH, and ligament pain and it just feels battered now. Hurts to walk with it. Off for a lie down me thinks.

Sorry everyone. I wasn't trying to say that anyone had hassled Skinty, or that one text was a problem. All I was trying to say was that a cumulation of numerous posts over a course of days, or a barrage of texts (if that were to happen) MIGHT be more upsetting than helpful depending on what the circumstances were. It's not up to me to dictate how people react, nor was I trying to. All I was trying to do was to raise it as an issue for people to think about, and then do what they think fit having thought about it.

I know it isn't the same thing at all, but I recall when I discovered I had lost my first baby at 17 weeks, and friends and family knew I had gone to the hospital for a scan, it was really really hard to have to deal with lots of messages in the aftermath, even though all anyone wanted to do was to show they cared and to support me. I am not for a moment suggesting that anything even vaguely approaching this has happened with Skinty, just that there is almost certainly a reason why she hasn't been back to update, we obviously all very much hope this is due only to exhaustion and the demands of a newborn, but as she isn't even reading the forum at the moment, there isn't a huge amount to be gained by adding to the very many posts already here asking for an update on her situation

Arghhh I slept through the morning office hours of the person I needed to speak to today (serves me right for lying down for five minutes after my shower) and now Husband has gone off to Ikea and left me supervising the guy who's hanging the paintings! I was half asleep when we decided what was going where and I'm terrified that I'm telling him the wrong places for everything. The guy is hilarious actually - he must have drunk his body weight in coffee and has yet to use the bathroom. I think he's too shy to ask permission, although I showed him where it was earlier on. Maybe he'll float away...

It's so weird about buildings in Germany that were rebuilt immediately after the war - they used whatever they could get their hands on as building materials and so it's entirely possible to drill a hole and find sand pouring out of it, or get your drill caught on a piece of scrap metal from rubble that used to be on the site of your building. So anything requiring holes in walls that go deeper than the plaster is a professional job. But kind of cool when you have no idea what's coming out at you :)

I hope everyone's doing well and that nobody feels pressured or harassed. It's not my intention to make anyone uncomfortable (except Triggles, and only for skipping me like that ;) ). Happy Fridays and relaxing weekends to all.

Hi Nicki - how are you getting on?

SS - Happy Friday to you.

I have cancelled my Monday appointment with the Physio as my trapped sciatica nerve seemed to become "untrapped" which was weird. After being in excruciating pain (slight exageration) last week it seems to have stopped hurting. So thought theres no point bothering the physio for nothing and someone else will need it more than me. Although guaranteed it will return on the weekend and I'll curse my thoughtfulness! :)

The ones that say from birth anyway. But you may want to think about swaddling for the first few days/weeks. Only way I got sleep with the boys!

Thats what i'm planning to do tia, even bought a swaddle blanket. My DS was a nightmare, kept waking himself up with flaling arms wacking himself in the face. Only settled down once i began to swaddle and it was a godsend.
