    Hi Helen

I posted mine around the 26th of last month so im hopeing it will be in my account by end of next week as it was taking about 4 wks someone did mention the other day they were turning around the forms quite quickly now :-)

It's about a week from posting to getting into bank - I got the letter 3 days after!

I'm just making spag bol but the mince all clumped together (probably cos I was catching up and forgot to stir it) so just spent ages trying to seperate it! I hate clumpy mince - gross.

I love all the cryptic clues as to where you all live! Sami and I used to do that - little abbreviations about local stuff. We were stalking each other - she worked out where i worked by something I said then I worked out where she lived from something she said!

Nice when people are close together.

I picked up another Free Huggies Newborn pack from ASDA and have another voucher as well - will teach my silly surgery to leave loads of Emma's Diary lying about (they are supposed to be behind reception and given out by MW)

Scan appt came thru for next week - 2.30pmj for scan then straight to clinic afterwards to see consultant and diabetic nurse.

I was so busy today I forgot to check my sugars after lunch - oops :o

Matt -I got the TT CTN Electronic steriliser - the microwave one was to big for my microwave and I only paid £12.50 for it at the end of the ASDA baby event.

Hi Kamper - glad scan went well and you finally have an EDD!!!

text from Dad - wow you should have come, temp was 40 today!!! Met up withn your sisters and stepdad last night was good. Not seen ur mum yet as she flies today! Ur grandad is burnt and has swam for the first time in years!

Wow thanks Dad - like I don't feel bad enough about staying at home you go and rub it in about what a fantastic time your having!

Anyone been reading that DS18 left a note thread?
Jeez some people need to move into the real world - some of us wouldn't be here (literally and on this thread :p) if we all lived by the no sex before marriage rule and saying an 18 yo is too young to be having sex!

Pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks, which if you follow a lunar calendar - which makes sense to me since my cycle is 28 days - is actually ten months.

3 months is calculated as 12 weeks, 6 months as 24 which means 9 months is 36 weeks - leaving 4 weeks at the end unaccounted for. The number of months you are is normally the completed number, IYSWIM - at 4 weeks you are 1 month pregnant, although you've been pregnant for 28 days and not 31 like with calendar months.

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, which means I have 14 days left and then 7 days before an induction.

 Thanks. This is my fourth pregnancy and third child and I never knew they were 40 weeks long...

Not sure how its calculated in Germany obviously, but for those of us in England, my understanding has always been it is calculated as 40 weeks or 9 months, not 10.

So on day 28 of a perfectly regular cycle, you would be 4 weeks pregnant, but you would not in fact be 1 month pregnant until 1 calendar month after conception (so between 2-3 weeks after your period was due)

There would be no circumstances in England where you could be 9 and a half months pregnant several weeks before your due date. You might however be 9 and a half months pregnant if you were extremely overdue and they were discussing induction.

Not trying to be pedantic, but thought this might save someone in England making a complete banana of themselves when having a rant at a midwife towards the end of their pregnancy :D

my god girls I came back from holidays and thought you'd all gone missing but lo and behold a new thread!!

Sorry I missed about 100pages of the old one so not sure if anyone has given birth/started labour/gotten pregnant etc etc since Fri, would love to be updated if there has been any big news?

Had a lovely break away with hubs and DD at the North Coast and managed to cope ok with tiredness and nausea, however today it all caught up with me and ended up in bed most of the day then started throwing up this afternoon!

Very excited though as got my appointments through for first midwife appointment (totally new as DD was GP care) and first hospital appointment, feels like I'm properly pregnant now though still only 7weeks + 5days.

Someone mentioned about travel sickness bands and just wondering where you got them from?

Hi ladies, just checking in. Im still about but lurk too much I think! Im in Manchester too, thought Id noticed a lot of northern sayings on here :D

Congrats to Tara, your little ones beautiful and welcome to all the newbies. Im having major heartburn today, Im relying on gaviscon to stop me being ill after pretty much everything I eat or drink. People keep telling me its a sign the baby has a lot of hair which I find amusing seems as I have alopecia! Typical that I'll have a hairy baby :rotfl:
