    Violetta,

Aloe Vera gel (£2 from Holland & Barratt) will stop you breaking out in spots and heal the ones you have. It's a skin normaliser - that's why we Aussie's use it in our burns units in hospitals. It heals dry patches, prevents oily breakouts, cleans up spots and is possibly the BEST masque I have ever used (just layer thickly and keep on - no need to remove unless you want to!).

I'm pale too and the ONLY thing I have found that makes me look like I'm not wearing an orange tinted mask is mineral make-up.
Head for your local Boots or Superdrug and start testing them out - it also doesn't cake so you can reapply bits & pieces on the day without looking like you're layering!

I used the L'Oreal one, but it was not as refined as some of the newer ones on the market, so worth testing.

    Kel.

Baldy eyes here! lol , thanks honey do you mean this one , I'll get some tomorrow, especially as it now looks like there may be a wee scab forming on 1 of my brows. A friend at work said they were lovely (don't think she'd lie) think I'm getting over the shock but bit concerned at the redness.
Will also have a look in Boots for make up.
    Booo!!!

violetta, once the redness has gone down post a pic and we'll give you honest opinions if you like. i'm sure they will look gorg. if you've never plucked or had them waxed before then no wonder it was a shock. shaping your eyebrows can make such a difference as it they frame your face. my friend at school had quite thick bushy eyebrows and while on holiday in tenerife i plucked them for her. what a difference! all her family commented that it made her so much prettier.

well before the wedding i'm planning on having my hair trimmed and thined (very thick naturally curly hair) and my roots done. i also intend on getting them to put 2 or 3 other shades of blond through it to break up the colour a bit.

at the beautician i want; acrylic nails or similar, bikini wax, pedicure, eyebrow wax, eyelash tint & perm and possibly extensions, spray tan.

also before hand may do a couple of tanstands. sorry lilian:o.

we also recently bought a double canopy sunbed but we will be selling it soon to help pay for wedding:D. main reason was i have a skin condition which gave me bacne and the sunbed has totally cleared it up, plus we both wanted a wee bit of colour as being scottish we are naturally blue:rotfl:. we haven't gone mad on it and it's not a high powered one so we've been good.

That's the magic stuff Violetta as with any beauty product, test a small bit on the inside of your wrist first prior to using to make sure you're not allergic - however, as Aloe is in everything frm toilet paper to baby lotions now I think the risk is extremely low of anyone having a reaction. It is used because of it's low allergenic properties.

To kill redness immediately, put the Aloe in the fridge - great for sunburn, bites, stings, cuts, abrasions, spots, dry skin, wrinkles, bags, sags...you name it.
My advice for the eyebrows would be to layer some aloe all over the eyebrow area ( a little goes a looooooong way) and then lay down and relax for 15 mins while it absorbs.

Once you start using aloe for things you will seriously wonder how you got along before you had it.

Let us know how you get on.
  • Another little tip for 'on the big day' spots - any eyedrops that have a 'redness reducing' claim on the bottle, can be used to get rid of any agry red spots that appear on the day.

'Anti red' eyedrops have a vasoconstrictor property in them that temporarily reduces redness within 1 minute of application, just apply with a cotton tip and watch it turn back to a normal colour. You'll be stuck with the spot, but it won't be a glowing red colour for the pics.

WARNING: these drops should NOT be used by anyone who has any kind of heart condition or is on medication for any blood disorder or blood pressure complaints. If you are uncertain, please consult your general practitioner or pharmacist.

  • god I always am really bad with beauty as I am obssesive about it!
so I cleanse tone and moisturise with an eye and neck and hand cream everyday. Every other day I have a face mask. Going to have fake nails a pedicure facial my eyebrows shaped and my hair cut and dyed. I want false eyelashes though I dont know if they will last so not sure about this as the expensive ones take ages and not sure Ihave the spare cash or the patience to sit for ages while they attach them!
Loves Vegas shopping and beauty products!
