if you suffer from oily skin DO NOT have a facial as it will bring out spots and make your skin even worse!

I have oily skin and had regular facials for about 3 months before my wedding. My skin has never been so good as it was then. Just wish I could have afforded to keep them up.

    - Ermm, wash my hair about 2 days before the wedding, if I do it night before/on the day it will turn into a HUGE frizz bomb, and no ammount of frizz-ease will tame it, seriously when my hair does that I could be mistaken for Hagrid from harry potter.

Do eyebrows, wilko do some fab lil eyebrow waxing strips that I've been using forever, there brilliant.

On the day, straighten hair ( possibly with industrial equipment) to get that 'oh so goth' straight hair I desire, so make up/eyeliner, squirt some perfume. all done :D

OK, when I said nothing I didn't really mean nothing, but I won't be going to any salons or anything like that. Will have my hair trimmed a month before probably, smoothed then curled on the day with my own curling tongs and straighteners, and just my usual make up. I don't normally make too much of an effort so will feel like a clown if I do too much!

:rolleyes2 sob sob, she gave me a facial just before ripping all but 10 eyebrow hairs off!!!
Then told me to stick toothpaste on a spot I have.:o

    Violetta,

Aloe Vera gel (£2 from Holland & Barratt) will stop you breaking out in spots and heal the ones you have. It's a skin normaliser - that's why we Aussie's use it in our burns units in hospitals. It heals dry patches, prevents oily breakouts, cleans up spots and is possibly the BEST masque I have ever used (just layer thickly and keep on - no need to remove unless you want to!).

I'm pale too and the ONLY thing I have found that makes me look like I'm not wearing an orange tinted mask is mineral make-up.
Head for your local Boots or Superdrug and start testing them out - it also doesn't cake so you can reapply bits & pieces on the day without looking like you're layering!

I used the L'Oreal one, but it was not as refined as some of the newer ones on the market, so worth testing.

    Kel.

Argh, I wasn't going to comment because it's up to you but...would you not prefer fake tan than a few months of skin cancer inducing sun booths?

OK, I'm shutting up again now! That's the nagger in me coming out, poor OH :D

I'll be getting my eyebrows done, they're fair so haven't bothered before but would like to just this once. Considering a spray tan but will have to try thisout a few months before just in case, don't want to be orab=nge just not glow in the dark, lol. Might go for some sort of wrap to loase the last few pounds and depending how finances are might go for shiatsu i thikn it is, a foot massage, which i've had a couple of times and it was sooooo relaxing :D Also need to find someone to do my makeup, i make a rubbish attempt every day of the week, woud like some improvement on my wedding day :rotfl:

Mrsday2tobe, thank you for the advice re the gel - i will be investing in some of that this weekend.

Just a warning to other brides re minor make up - i'm told that in order to look good on the photo's you need to go a shade darker than normal and blend blend blend otherwise your face will appear paler than the rest of your body on you photo's. Something to do with minerals/photography reflection etc. Hope this helps others
