Howdy - just spoke to Mill (?) at Directfoto. Apparently, the orders are posted from Guernsey and have to go through London. This appears to be causing approx 2 week delays by the sound of it but she assures me that a huge batch of Uniross orders went out at the end of last week. Mine apparently went out on the 4rth (I ordered on the 3rd)! If I don't receive it by the middle of next week then I am to ring back.

Anyone wishing to check their orders can ring their number (01481 239729) - you need to provide your surname and post code in order for them to check whether or not it has been posted.

Re the confirmation emails not being sent, they are looking into that.

    Let's see what happens...

Well, there's good news and bad news.

    First the good news: :)

    - the charger came in this mornings post, ya!
    - the charger came with 4 x AA batteries rated at 2300 mA, ya!
    - the charger came with a 'C' and 'D' type battery converters for the AA's, huh?

Now for the bad news: :(

    - the charger didn't come with the free 4 x AAA battery pack, boo!

Hmmm. Obviously, despite me ordering the charger with the free AAA pack of batteries (which was also stated on the enclosed invoice), I've got me the AA adaptors instead.

While I ponder a)how I feel about this and b)what I'm going to do about it, I'd like to ask if anyone else got their Uniross chargers today and what did it come with?

  • I received mine yesterday, without the AAA's but with the C adaptor, which frankly is no good to me & is a cheap substitute. I'm going to complain by email as I've obviously not got what I ordered & at no time did they contact me to ask whether I would accept the substitute. Will update when (or if) I get a response.
  • Here's a copy of the mail I've just fired off.............Will keep you posted.

Hi. I have received my order but have not received the 4x 700 Mah AAA batteries which were advertised & required. Instead I have received an unwanted C battery adaptor (as a cheap alternative I guess). I did not want this & at no time did you contact me to enquire whether I would accept this changeprior to despatch. Your order confirmation clearly states that 4 x AAA rechargeables were included in the sale & I still wish to receive them. I look forward to your early response.[/I]

I just picked up the Uniross X-Press 300 with 4 2300mAh AA's for £8.99 instore at Maplins (as posted by Weymouth Man in post #38). Doesn't look like it's available online anymore.

However they also have a Uniross Compact charger for £4.99 with 2 AAA 700mAh batteries included. Code #L34BL. Instore and online http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=battery%20charger&ModuleNo=47954&doy=14m5

The originally posted offer is no longer valid by the look of things.

The link opens up as being supplied with 4xAA batteries only now.

Hi there, as mentioned in Nix and DickPimple's post, I received my charger on Sat with 4AA batteries but instead of 4AAA batteries, they sent me C and D size converters. Similarly to DickPimple I rang them and asked for 4AAA batteries (spoke to Mill or Mel) she said this offer (with 4AAA) is no longer available and we have amended on the website as well. I insisted when I ordered it was with 4AAA batteries, that why I ordered. Anyway, she said leave it to me, I will get posted to you 4AAA batteries.

Now let's wait and see I receive 4AAA batteries or not or when? Will let everyone know when I will receive.

I never had a problem at all with this order.

If anyone needs a screen shot of the original offer here it is:
