Blow for sickness benefit claimants

Thank you ILW.
Let's agree to disagree. My lad still pays enough in taxes every month to pay my benefits, plus extra, so people like donald tramp really should shut their mouths. My dad retired last year after working for 52 years, I believe he's paid more than enough to pay for my operation.
As I said donald, do you work in a job that relies on customers, or do you work for yourself, with only you using whatever it is you use to make a living. You're picking on the little people but I know for a fact the little people make you your money!
Moron!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
screamer, as someone else with neurological problem my heart goes out to you. My biggest fear for a long time was that I would develope seisures (I only ever had black outs, no fitting) and the further complications that would bring to life.
The other thing thats difficult is how hard neurological illnesses can be to see, sometimes there are obvious syptoms, facial palsy, ticks etc, etc, sometimes not. Somedays I feel up to everything and I look no better/worse than days when the most I can do is try not to complain.
For the person who queried the number of conditions, in my experience when my brain stpped working pretty much everything developed system failure: if there is a problem, for example, near the hypothalymus some hormone systems can go up the spout, then they impact on other systems which have seeming no connection.
Its sad, but bad fotune is very rarely even spread.0 -
I suffer with catermenial epilepsy, which affects female epilepsy sufferers during the time of the month. That is all to do with hormones and I'd say 75% of my seizures are during the time of the month. At these times I can't think straight never mind function properly.
I'm now waiting for some bloke on here to tell me I'm making that up too, seeing as though they all seem to think I am a compulsive liar!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -

This "government" you are speaking about, this big nasty state, is actually the collection of wills of the people in the UK.
At least it is supposed to be. Clown just seems to do whatever he can to spend all of our cash and future generations cash. But I digress.
Don't people on the "take" or in receipt of benefits realise that is is the goodwill, money and hardwork of others that is feeding/clothing/housing them and allowing them to breed??
This "nasty" governemnt is actually EVERYONE else!!
Benefits claimants survive off the back of hard work of other people.
This is what irks me. It's just, "I'm entitled to this," "I'm entitled to that" without any realisation (or thanks for) the goodwill of other people.
It's an absolute disgrace.
Have a read at this quote from Margaret Thatcher.....
Then get back to me
"I think we've been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it's the government's job to cope with it. 'I have a problem, I'll get a grant.' 'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' They're casting their problem on society. And you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It's our duty to look after ourselves and then, also, to look after our neighbour. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation."
If you have been judged to have enough money, what more do you want,
Some of mine:rolleyes:?
£250 a month for bills? are you having a laugh?
Sorry but you're obviously not as "entitled" to our money as much as you thought you were, eh?
Just one more hole to pick in your ignorant statements. You DO NOT pay taxes based on goodwill, you pay taxes because it is the law. There is no goodwill involved you twit, so get off your flaming high horse and see that no matter what happens in this country, we have big brother watching everything. Not everyone is as healthy as you, and I can half imagine you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. The majority of the time people who have good lives have had a good start, I am one of the unfortunates who cannot claim that! So "up yours" and your snotty attititude. Don't pay your taxes and see what happens! Troll!!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
There is a minority who hold the opinion that there should be no social provision, no benfits, no welfare and that it should be up to everyone to look after themselves. It seems to be even more strongly believed in the USA. Those that believe it most strongly appear generally to be those who have done well for themselves generally.
That belief makes no allowance for the complexity and interdependance of a society.
I have been to a few countries that function pretty much as these persons would like to see it - Malawi being a good example - no help for anyone. There are a few rich people at the top and massive urban poverty. If you get sick, you die. Simple. If your crops fail, you starve, simple. If your mum and dad die of Aids, either you get lucky and a relative cares for you or you are picked up by an NGO orphanage, but in the main you either die, become a street kid or sell your body.
I know which system I prefer and think works better for all concerned. Its not a simple equation. It needs reform but I've not seen a better system anywhere else. And its about time that senior citizens and motherhood started to be shown the respect they deserve too.
Could I have been this comfortably off if not for the the hard work of others? A better quote than Thatchers is "No man is an Island" and those who want to be had better hope disaster never walks their way.0 -

Steady on screamer - dont let it get the better of you. Your starting to generalise about blokes! I'm a bloke and not untypical I'd have thought.0 -
I'm sorry Jim, that's unfair. My sincerest of apologies!!! :-)
It was more aimed towards the men who think I'm making it all up!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
Congratulations on finding a typo...
.so people like donald tramp really should shut their mouths
No I won't.
I am entitlled to my opinion and I think you'll find their are millions out there who agree with me.
I have NEVER said that people who NEED help shouldn't get it. I have said many, many times on here that genuine people would get the shirt off my back.
Well from what you've said it looks like you are one of the MIILIONS of claimants who are entitled to help. Good luck to you. I really, really mean that;).
But as for...You're picking on the little people but I know for a fact the little people make you your money!
Moron!!
I am no moron. You know nothing "for a fact" and I'm not picking on the little people who "make me money"
I'm angry about the lazy scroungers who live off my back.
You case, is one case and it sounds like you deserve support of the state.
HOWEVER there are millions of people out there making a mockery out of the system and your personal story makes not a bit of difference to how I feel about these people. NOT ONE BIT.
The issue IS the fact that the scroungers make the general public turn against everyone on benefits.
The law IS the will of the people you halfwit! If it wasn't for people paying taxes you wouldn't be getting medical treatment at allJust one more hole to pick in your ignorant statements. You DO NOT pay taxes based on goodwill, you pay taxes because it is the law.Not everyone is as healthy as you, and I can half imagine you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
No, I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I've got to where I am because of hard work.
So, who's doing the sweeping generalisations now eh?
No, the majority of people make there way in life because they work. The majority of the time people who have good lives have had a good start, I am one of the unfortunates who cannot claim that! So "up yours" and your snotty attititude.
As for all this nonsense about "hoping disaster never comes my way",
How do you know it hasn't?
Life is a lottery and you never know what's coming for you. If the worst did happen that is what the support systems are for. They are NOT a lifestyle choice.0 -
lol, i can't believe your idea of being clever is quoting maggie t, thats quite hilarious, just proves there is one born every second , you think society is broken, let me assure you it is working exactly as planned, you need to go educate yourself instead of swallowing all the rubbish and propoganda you have been fed from childbirth to date, sounds like you applied for benefits and were refused due to your substantial savings, i think you are just bitter and twisted with a touch of jealousy thrown in for good measure because the state into whom you put your faith and taxes for all those years turned it's back on you when you needed it and showed you the door!, next you will be trying to tell people that we live in a democracy, you sir , are a plonker of the highest rodney
quote:
"The issue IS the fact that the scroungers make the general public turn against everyone on benefits."
Drivel, people with attitutes like yours try to make the public turn against everyone on benefits helped along by government propaganda
Divide and conquer is a good way to win any war, you seem to excell at dividing0 -
