Incidentally, I tried to make Paneer yesterday (did I read it here or in the Yahoo group? I am getting confused!) and it came very nice.

All I did was bring 2 pints of full fat milk to the boil, add the juice of 1 lemon, took off milk from the flame and let the curds form. I lined a colander with muslin and in two hours I had a nice little blob of Paneer cheese, which I am going to fry to use with the spinach growing in my garden.

Can someone who's done it *please* be so wonderful as to post a no-nonsense, Cal-proof method for thermos yoghurt-making?

(I swear, I'm the type that needs detailed instructions to boil an egg...)

    TIA

Made my first batch successfully last week by following the instructions here http://www.downsizer.net/Projects/Processing_Food/Yoghurt_making/ They are very easy to follow, step by step with pictures and they work. Good luck.
  • Thanks! Looks nice and straightforward :) As soon as some live yoghurt finds its way into the groceries, I'll give it a go. It's on the list for curries, anyway.

    *bounce*

(I just made banana bran muffins. And they rose, and everything! And they *look* like muffins! Possibly I should have used more flour and fewer branflakes though. )
  • How is everyone doing on the Kefir front? I made a pint yesterday but can't get used to the taste...So I added some honey and ate it. Within 30 minutes I was head in the toilet sick  !! Has this happened to anyone else? My OH had exactly the same food as me bar the Kefir, so I am assuming that caused it. Am a bit scared of it now.... :o
