If no-one's posted it before, and you want to get some grains for the price of postage, check out this site: http://www.torontoadvisors.com/Kefir/kefir-list.php

Scroll down to your country and contact the person closest to you! Simple.

Have contacted a UK based person today and am waiting for a reply - will let you know if I get a successful outcome :0)

Did you hear back from that website? I've emailed a couple of people on there but I dont know if its outdated as I know two people on it personally who i've contacted but they have none.

Trust me, i started the thread and told people to freeze some in case of accidents.... :o

Now I mix my kefir milk with banana and frozen berries or tinned fruit. It's delicious!

    Thanks Angelina.

Left kefir on floor (kitchen has u/f heating and there's a nice warm patch where the central heating pipes for the rest of the house go. Looked this morning and it looked bitty, as if the milk was separating, but not really. Drained it off and it tastes... well not nice.. but less evil than the first batch through. I tried to rinse of the bits and have returned it to fresh batch of milk. Does this sound 'normal' Angelina?

Might avoid waste and put this in some bread. Curry tonight, so maybe I should look at doing naaan.

Yup that sounds fine. I only sent you a little bit though so give it time to grow and settle. I find that after a week or so you'll get more reliable results. I keep mine in a plastic tupperware beaker with a lid. The lid is just loose on top (never put the lid on properly or the gasses will cause it to explode) Everytime I walk past it, I pop the lid on for a second and give it a good shake. I find this makes the grains grow quicker (dont ask me why  ) but also the grains get access to fresh milk so the end result seems creamier.

Dont wash the bits off, they will be fine and everytime you wash the grains it has to recover. I only wash mine when I remember, maybe every week or two.

You dont bother me at all. I just hope you manage to get on ok with the kefir. Definately try giving it a good shake when you walk past. I really shake it hard, mind you, the other day when I released the lid it didnt half go with a pop!

I'm doing a curry and naan tonight too! I like kefir in naan bread, I dont go mad though, maybe a third to a half mixed with water.
